Martha Stewart Living Ingrid Bookcase

Good morning,

Yesterday I shared a picture of my new bookcase and how I organize clear mount stamps … sorry I forgot to include where I got them.

It's the Martha Stewart Living Ingrid Bookcase and they have them at Home Decorators. It's the best store we have for furniture for paper crafting …. but ….I keep hoping for an IKEA in Overland Park, Kansas!!

So, after Christmas they had a sale and an additional sale in the store (not advertised in their catalog) ……  Once I saw that …I knew I had to get some new shelves.

The only downside  ….. you have to assemble it!!

I also purchased the Craft Space Organization System and when I get back from Leadership I'll share some more pictures.

Here's the latest picture of Miss Bella … she's 17 weeks old and weighs 9.12.  She's peeking out of the crate I bought her to take her back and forth to the vet. Yes … it's time for a new one ..she's out grown it!!

Have a great day!!

p.s. If you'd like to watch the Live Stream from yesterday, click here to go there.  During the live stream we went through the Occasions Mini Catalog and then I demonstrated how to use the Framelits and how to emboss with the framelits ….and how to emboss with the Framelits when you don't have Tab 2.   I'll be sharing a video on that this week.

How I organize my kits

Halloween kit 3
Organization is huge when you’re tackling a big project and over the past year or so I’ve had a number of people ask me how I get ready for a class or prepare a kit.

So, here’s the details:  I decided on five projects for my Halloween Class.  Next I put all five projects in their own plastic container.  In that container held the project, the supply sheet and supplies needed to make the project.   I determined the cost on each project before I priced it out.  This year my kit was a little cheaper because my overall cost was lower.

Next the cutting process:  I cut one for all five projects and then I made a cutting map.  Picture this….I took one sheet of White card stock and I put on top of it every white piece I needed.  Then I took a ruler and drew it out.  For my Halloween kit I needed 6 pieces of white that ranged from 3 x3 to 2 3/4 x 2 1/4.  It’s hard to explain but my making a cutting map it saved me time & card stock! (Although I must admit…I goofed up the black  map and the ladies that were here at my local class had to watch me scramble to figure out what I had done…I corrected the problem before I shipped the kits.)

As I finished a project I marked it off my Project supply sheet….double checking to make sure each line item was marked off.

Next came the bagging process…Each project had it’s on bag and I organized them in baskets…..here’s a few more pictures.

Halloween kit 1 I hope you’ve enjoyed the behind the scenes look at my kit organization.

Have a good day!

p.s. I’ve had a few questions asked about my library style cabinets (you got a glimpse of them on the picture I posted yesterday).  I found those a few years back at Nebraska Furniture Mart.  Huge thanks goes out to my friend Julie for showing it to me!!  I’ll go over what I store in those drawers very soon!!

Convention Notebook & Binder finished!

My notepad

Over the weekend I finished all the notebooks & notepads for the Stampin' Up! Convention.   I'm thrilled with how they look and will be very proud to carry them around all week.  I'll show you all of them today….except……the team notepads.  I want those girls to see them first…so I'll schedule that picture to post next week while I'm at Convention.

The above picture is my notepad that I will use to take Convention notes.   The next picture is the back of my notepad.

Back of my notepad

Next is my binder…I got tons of requests for all the details so here ya go….

Convention binder

The categories for my tabs are Orientation, Classes, team, SAM, swaps, flight, hotel  & map. I printed the tabs with my handy dandy P-Touch.  The info behind each tab…is everything I need to know…..  for example behind the Classes tab, is my schedule that I printed off the Stampin' Up! website.

This binder will go with me everywhere I go the first two days of Convention…then after that I won't need it again until the last day (for my flight info).

Here's a picture of the cover….I used Pear Pizzazz and the Regal Rose Designer Paper. I played around with using Early Espresso & a Turquoise color…. but decided less is more …. for me!!

  Angie's convention notebook

I need a favor….if you requested a Stampin' Up! catalog from me and have not received it….could you send me an email asap.   When I took the catalogs to the post office, the lady choose to use a $4.90 stamp instead of metering them…and then she failed to stamp them with the meter thing…so they are being returned to me.  I took some of them back and they are on their way.  But I'm afraid….will I get more and when ….did some of them end up in the trash?  It's just one more thing for me to worry about and I need to get it resolved.

Thanks for stopping by!!

p.s. here's a bunch of random stuff

  • my phone & internet may be down for a while today.  We are getting a 2nd line added for Dave's office…the good news is I'll have my phone again.  I have missed my phone conversations with my customers & downline and I really appreciate you all being patient! Having two of us working out of this house….is not easy!   Not complaining…we are thankful for the job….but it was crazy before…now both of us working in our home….u get what I'm saying?
  • The other good news is I finally ordered a new cell phone….some of you know this already and some of you don't.  My cell phone does not work in my office at all!   and it won't hold a charge and …if it does work it gets really hot.  So I bought one on ebay :)  I should get it tomorrow.
  •  Last but not least we heard back from KU yesterday.   Chase's appt is Feb. 15th, 2011.  Yes, you read that right…..lets just say…I'm trying to figure out where to go from here.

Convention Organization

Good morning,

My post today is geared towards my downline and other Stampin' Up! Demonstrators. But…a note to my customers…….you can use this same idea for anything.  When I was VP of our PTO or anytime I've had to be in charge of something I've created notebooks & notepads.  It's one of my favorite things to make!  One day I'll show you some of them 🙂

Every year….. I take a 3 ring binder to Convention to keep me organized.  Here's a picture of my binder from last year (they usually change each year).

Convention notebook

And here's a picture of the inside (in the picture above…pink line marks out an email address no longer valid).

Convention notebook inside

My tabs are Orientation, Flight, Hotel, Map, Sam, Swaps & Misc.  And I'll also throw in there a schedule of what I'll wear on what days….I know…I've been told that's kinda weird.
I also will add a pencil pouch to keep track of my post it notes, highlighter, tickets, advil & chewing gum 🙂

This weekend I'm going to work on an idea I have for my team members that's going to Convention.  I'm not sure if I'm going to use paper or fabric….notepad or file folder…or something entirely random …..  who knows which direction I'll take…but here's picture of where I'm at right now.

Team chic n scratch

Supplies in the picture are Bold Brights Patterns Designer Stack (Regal Rose), Early Espresso & Pear Pizzazz.

Have a great weekend & I'll see you on Monday!!

p.s.  oops, I almost forgot…..the nurse called and Chase is too old to be seen at Childrens Mercy so now we're being referred to KU.   Now we'll wait to hear when they can see him.

Clear Block Storage Caddy & a make believe Chic Stand

Good morning,

Yesterday I was filming a video of me opening the box to my Clear Block Storage Caddy (#120279)…..but ….in the middle of filming….it hit me that the foam material in the Caddy….is the same material as the Chic Stand.

So, long story story short….if you buy the Clear Block Storage Caddy…you’ll get a whole assortment of Chic Stands …. minus the name on it 🙂

Click here if you’d like to see the video….although ….this is a remake of the video…..I got so excited I had to stop it and start all over….you will more than likely see bits & pieces of it on my next bloopers video.

Here’s a couple pictures for you.

New Ink Colors

Good morning,

My post today is on organization……July 1st will be here before we know it and I'm in the process of removing the retiring product to make room for the new stuff.

You've seen my Ink refill organization before….but it looks so much prettier with the pieces of card stock labeled with my P touch (with the new colors).

Update on June 17th…I found this drawer unit at either Walmart or Lowes but it was so many years ago I just can't remember.

Our New Color Collections each have ten colors and it worked perfect!!  Each drawer holds the ink refill, a sponge dauber, sponge and possibly a chalk refill (or ink cartridge for the wheels).

I've heard from a few of you wanting to know about the new catalog….. They are on order but as far as I know they have not shipped.  The minute I get them I will post it on my blog and they will go in the mail.   The Priority Mail envelopes include your invoice and a wish list and they are all ready to go …only thing missing is the catalog 🙂

Sorry I didn't get a chance to post yesterday!! I had Stamp Club in the morning and last night.   And….. we're working on getting Dave's office finished.  I thought after the crazy month of May that I would get caught up in June….but I'm going to stop saying I'm going to get caught up and then maybe I will.  (Isn't that like reverse psychology).  That's the beauty of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, we set our hours and decide when we can work around our families schedule.  Summer months are a little harder but I'm not complaining….. Chase is 17 & Brooke is 16 and I'm well aware that in a blink of an eye they'll be in college and possibly living somewhere else.

Have a great day & thanks for stopping by!!

Sponge Storage

I've had several people ask how I store my Stampin' Up! Sponges after labeling them.   Here's a few pictures of how I organize them…..

Sponge storage

Reinker storage

Each drawer has the ink refill, a sponge and a sponge dauber.  I bought these drawer units at Lowe or Home Depot many years ago (7 or 8 years) and I love how organized they keep my supplies….but I sure wish they looked prettier!!

Thanks!!

Label your Stampin’ Up! Sponges

My organizing tip for today was shown to us a Leadership and I love it!!

SU Sponges

Use the Round Tab Punch to label your Stampin' Up! Sponges.  When it was shown on stage I believe it was hand written but since my handwriting truly looks like Chicken Scratch I decided to use the PTouch to label mine.

In the old days I labeled my sponges with a sharpie marker but it was sometimes difficult to read….I really like how nice & neat this looks 🙂

If you'd like to see how I made them, I've filmed a video and posted it on my Chic n Scratch Live! website.  Click here to watch that video now.

How to label Stampin’ Up! Ink Pads

As you all know I love organizing tips !! And when I saw Linda's idea at Leadership I knew I had to share it with all my friends & customers.

Ink pad label

If you have a bunch of ink pads open at the same time, this tip will save your ink pads!!  Who hasn't accidentally stamped Black into their Pretty in Pink ink pad? Or watched someone else do it?

Click here to head over to my Chic n Scratch Live! website to see my video on how I label the Stampin' Up! Ink pads with my Word Window Punch and a PTouch.

Big Shot & 12 x 12 Paper Organization

Today I'm sharing some Organization tips.   For Christmas Dave bought me a Craftsman Tool chest for my Big Shot & Dies.

Big Shot Station

I got this idea from the lady that does my hair.  She has all her stuff in a chest like this and she can roll it around.  I thought it would be great for my Big Shot because I keep moving it from my paper craft area to my sewing area and now I can just roll the whole station around.

Although Dave bought it for me for Christmas…it was on backorder and we just got it yesterday.  And, it didn't take me long to fill the drawers 🙂 I love it…but I sure wish it was white or cream colored!! Oh well, not everything can be pretty in here. I'll be looking at buying a few Decor Elements to not only label it but to also make it pretty!!

Here's the picture of the Regular Dies.

Here's the Alphabets, Embossing folders, Texturz Plates & Sizzlits.

We found the Magnetic Board at Ikea & it works great holding the Magnetic Dies (we need to hang it on the wall).

The next organization tip is my 12 x 12 Designer Paper.  This idea came from Jill, one of my downline girls.  I have always looked for a way to organize my 12 x 12 scraps & this is what she came up with.   For now I have these on top of my counter, but we may add some cabinets & I'll need to move it.  For now …it works great!

12 x 12 paper storage

Each bin holds two Designer Papers. I label it on the left & the right with my PTouch.   The scraps of those same two Designer Papers goes into one of the Craft Keepers.  I also store my Window sheets & Rub-ons in these bins.

Thanks for all the name suggestions for my Savanna Bag!! I agreed with many of you that naming it after my niece was the way to go. I've loaded the videos on You Tube and I'm working on loading them on my Chic n Scratch Live! website.  I'll also have the written instructions available for a small fee (speaking of the fee, I charge a small fee because I have a friend that helps me and I pay her to do most of the work).

I'll announce the winner to my Blog Candy on Tuesday 🙂

Stamp Club is tomorrow & I need to finish getting ready for that….and then I'm spending the rest of the day with the family.

Happy Valentines Day!!
