Update on Chase

A quick update on Chase……..

I'm struggling with how much info do I post on my business blog …or even if I should. Sometimes it's hard to know where to draw the line …especially when you're dealing with emotional stuff and lack of sleep.

I've decided to share the details …..so that everyone can understand.

His surgery was on Friday.  Everything went well but as expected he's dealing with a lot of pain. They removed the tumor and then took some bone from his heel to replace the bone in his ankle….and screwed it in.

The first few nights were awful ….we came home Saturday evening …. with the nerve block, thank God for that!!   He's also on some major pain meds.  The nerve block was intended to last two to three days ….looks like tomorrow is the last day (I'm terrified).

Until I feel comfortable leaving him upstairs alone…. I'm not working.   I had thought about posting and providing you all with cute ideas …. but to be honest ….. my heart just isn't into stamping when he's not feeling well.  I know most of you mothers out there totally get what I'm saying.

I may change my mind in a couple days …maybe I'll feel more energetic …but in the meantime I'm not going to be posting projects.   I'll try to check my email once or twice a day … but if it requires me working to find the answer I'm going to hold off and put it in my to do box.

Meanwhile my title for the next week or so is nurse and companion…he and I have watched about 10 episodes of House and we're dreading when we run out (we're on Season 6).

Here's a picture of Chase's ankle on Saturday.

Chase ankle day two

And here's a picture of my attempt at stamping at the hospital …..using that tray thing in his room.  I got a great start on my May Thank you cards ….I scored & folded cards while he was in surgery and then Dave distracted me with Angry Birds.  That was a great time eater for him …he got stuck on one level for over an hour …he left to get coffee and I finished it for him in two tries …can you imagine his disbelief?  We're still cracking up over that one!!

May thank you card process
Have a great week & thanks so much for understanding!!

Chase

Just a quick note to let you know that Chase's surgery has been delayed.  There was some sort of a mix up at the hospital and we were sent home…turns out it was a mistake.

Yes it was crazy and frustrating but my family and I believe God had a plan and it wasn't meant for Chase to have surgery yesterday.  I'll admit we went through the stages of anger but I trust that everything happens for a reason.

I'll let you know the date as soon as we know….. & I'll be back later today with a card I'm working on.

Thanks!!

Beveled Windowpane Card

Beveled Windowpane card We made this Beveled Windowpane Card at Stamp Club yesterday.

I used the Happy Greetings stamp set from the Summer MIni Catalog that starts May 1st, 2011.

We embossed the Crumb Cake layer with the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder  and we sprayed it with the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint after we sponged all the edges.

If you live near Overland Park, Kansas and would like to join Stamp Club we are accepting new members…just in time for the brand new Idea Book & Catalog that will be available in July.  If you'd like more information please contact me at angie@mychicnscratch.com.   If you're not local and would like to join my Virtual Club, click here to check out My Chic n Scratch Classroom.

Punch Bunch Petal Cone Box

Punch Bunch Petal Cone Box For this Petal Cone Box I used the Punch Bunch stamp set one more time before Sale-a-bration ends.

It’s made exactly like the Petal Cone Carrot Box … I used Daffodil Delight card stock instead of Tangerine Tango. I used the Backgrounds #1 Texturz Plates instead of the Texture Plates Kit #4 and I used the Punch Bunch stamp set instead of the For you
Flower stamp.

I used the Daffodil Delight PomPom Trim and added a Rhinestone in the middle of the flower.

I colored the image with markers before I cut it out with the 1-3/8 Circle Punch.  And I stamped the flower from the ∫ with Pear Pizzazz and cut it out with the Fancy Flower Punch.

Update on Chase

I know a lot of you have been praying for Chase and I just wanted to share the news with you.  His MRI today shows he has a bone tumor.  They're pretty sure that it's not cancer but he does need surgery.  It's a rare tumor ….one not usually found in the ankle but from all the tests they're pretty certain that's what it is (MRI, Xray & Cat Scan).

I normally keep my blog business  ….so I'm sorry if you're offended by this but I need to get it off my chest….and just maybe it will help someone else.

Thank God we found a doctor that cared enough to run a simple MRI.  That's all it took to show the tumor …and it's amazing that it took three doctors to get a simple test ordered.  The reason I'm pouring all this out is ….I knew something was wrong ….the pain was too great for it to be nothing ……But yet two previous doctors did not want to run any tests.   The only reason I'm going on and on about this is  …. if you know something is wrong …don't give up.  In your heart …. you know it.  Just as when Chase was little …I knew something was going on very early…but it took lots of years & tears.

I really appreciate all your prayers and support and I'm totally at peace. I'm not worried about the surgery I know that God has a plan  …..& I trust Dr. Horton.  If you ever need a foot/ankle surgeon in KS….he's the one you want!!

I'll see you tomorrow with another Envelope Treat Holder ….. I have the video ready I just need to type the instructions.

Thanks & have a good night

Little Lamb Easter Treat

Little Lamb Easter Treat
I made the Little Lamb Easter Treat with two Scallop Circles that I cut out with the Scallop Circle Die.

I took the Nursery Suite Designer Paper and the Greenhouse Gala Designer Paper and attached them.  The first one I made I didn’t care for the inside pattern so I added two scallops to get the look I wanted.

I stamped the little lamb from the Little Lambs stamp set with Black Stazon ink and added Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to his body.  I punched him out with the 1-3/8 Circle Punch, added it to a 1-1/2 Baja Breeze Circle and layered it on to a Pear Pizzazz 1-3/4 Scallop Circle.

If you’d like to see how I made the Little Lamb Easter treat …. let me know …or click here to check out an older version.

Thanks & have great day!!

Attention email subscribers

If you subscribe to my blog with Feedburner (2nd sign up box on the right side of my blog)….. starting tomorrow my posts will feed to you later in the day.

What that means is ….if you receive my blog posts in your email box …you've been getting them around 11am.   When I've posted after 11 …you get the email the next day…….and that's confused many of you.  So, I'm changing it to post between 3pm-5pm.  That way if I decide to throw a Stamp with Chic n Scratch Live stream on UStream …..you'll get the notice on the same day ….not the next day…after the event.

If any of this confuses you please call me or send me an email and I'd be happy to go over it with you.

Have a good night!!

p.s. I'm working on the next stream and I think it's going to be Friday evening ..but I'll confirm it tomorrow.
