Sissy

I've struggled all morning ….do I post this on my blog or do I keep it private. I think I said that a few months ago with Chase's surgery.  It's a balancing act trying to figure out how much personal stuff to share.  My family sometimes thinks I'm crazy.

Now that I've got all the explaining out of the way …. I'll get to it :(

Yesterday our little Sissy went to puppy heaven.

My heart is totally broken.  Each of our pets have such different personalities and Sissy was the one that just made you laugh.  She was always starring at me …always running around.  She barked at everything and although that drove me crazy at times …. now there's a horrible quietness.

We had many names for her besides Sissy … Pom Pom, Pork Chop, Little Bit, Tip Toes …. & probably a few that I can't think of right now.

Here's a picture of her and I a couple days ago.

Sissy-&-Angie

And one of just her looking out the door….one of the things she did often!!

Sissy

I'm not going to be working much over the next few days …but I'll do my best to make something happen next week.

Have a great weekend and thanks for understanding!!

p.s. Yes …. 2011 has really been an awful year and I've had more than my share of hardship & grief ….but as painful as all this is.  I have my family & friends and we still have so much to be thankful for.  Watching the news confirms it daily!!

Charming Window Box

Charming-Window-Box
My Charming Window Box looks very similar to the Strength & Hope Bitty Box ……but  ….it's quiet a bit bigger.  It's the same box as the Greetings Card Kids Box or the Sweet Pea Candy Box.  I have a few more that I've made so I'll probably film a new video next week.

On this box I used the Charming stamp set with the Butterfly Prints stamp set …both with Early Espresso ink.  I used the 2-3/8 Scallop punch with the 1-3/4 Circle Punch ….and ….the Butterfly Punch :)  Don't you love the little Pearls I added to the Butterfly (I got that idea from Belinda's card).

Charming-Window-Box-2 Next week I'll take a picture of the two different sizes …side by side so you can see the difference.

Strength & Hope Shadow Box

Shadow-box How would you like to get a free kit to make this Strength & Hope Shadow Box

Starting today May 18th – May 28th ….everyone that places a minimum order of $35 will receive a kit to make this box.

The Video is available for free on my Chic n Scratch Live! site and pdf instructions will be provided in a link.  Kit includes all the supplies to make one box ….it does not include embossing or stamped images. (Kits will be mailed around June 1st.)

Why am I having this special in the middle of May?  It's my Stampin Up cruise special.   This coming week is the Stampin Up cruise to Alaska and although I earned it …we can't go because Chase graduates high school this weekend.

Here's the details for my Strength & Hope Shadow box ….. I used the Bitty Box Die to cut the box out and then embossed the top with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder.

All the images are from the Strength & Hope stamp set that's on the last page of the Summer Mini Catalog.  I stamped all of them with Early Espresso ink.

This idea came to me because I have some friends that walk every year for the Breast Cancer Race for a Cure and they're always looking for cute little gifts to pass out to their sponsors.  I thought this cute little shadow box would be perfect!!

Tomorrow I'll share with you a different version of the Bitty Box … just in case you want to add a little treat inside.  Here's a picture of the inside …..

The latest on Chase

Everything was going great ….. until I took him in Tuesday.  They removed the cast, the staples and the stitches …that in itself was very painful for him.  Around 10pm that night ….the pain started.  It's been two nights of zero sleep …I'm a walking zombie!!

The good news is Dave will be home late tonight …so hopefully he'll be able to take a shift or two.

Have a good day!!

p.s.  If you're curious and want to see the pictures of Chase's ankle, click here to go there (If you watch House or CSI …it's not something you haven't seen before ….but if you have a week stomach ..you might want to pass).

Just checking in ……

It's been a few days since I've updated you so I thought I would take a minute to do so.

Chase's has his doctors appointment today ….it's his first since his surgery….we leave in about an hour.  I think he's doing better …we'll see what the doctor says.  He's had some good days and some bad days and I can safely say he and I both have major Cabin Fever!!  I've left the house once to pick up supper and no sooner that I drove off he and Brooke were both calling me that he was in pain.  I haven't left since.

For those of you that deal with this type of situation all the time …I feel for you and will keep you in my prayers!  The isolation & lack of sleep can sure do a number on you.  It's funny when I posted all the details I heard from so many of you that I shouldn't forget to take care of myself.  At the time I was like okay ..will do.  But that's not easy to do!!!  I won't bore you with all the crazy reasons why I'm utterly exhausted!!

Good news is ….. I'm going to post a project tomorrow!!  If a miracle happens I could post it this evening but I'm sure the outing is going to get to Chase and I'll probably stick by him when we get home.

I just have to say ……You've all been so patient with me and not a single person has been mean or rude ……. I'm not sure I've said this before ….. I love y'all and I appreciate you!!!

Have a great day and I'll see you tomorrow!!

My friends in the south

Since I'm not working this week …..my blog has gone personal …I promise next week I'll get back on track.

The reason for this blog post is …. I have a lot of friends/customers in the south and the more I watch the news the more I see the names of cities I recognize.

If you were in the path of the storm and had damage or even if you had zero damage ….let me know you're okay. I'm in worry wort mode and I've transferred from worrying about Chase to worrying about you all!  If you've lost power …you may see this post weeks from now ….that's okay.  Just let me know you're safe & sound.

I hope all is well!!!

Chase

Chase's nerve block was removed yesterday and my fears have been put to rest ….his pain has been manageable.

If things stay the same today ….I may sneak down to my office for a few hours tomorrow (Friday). And I'll post the "Free Stamps for 12 weeks" winner tomorrow.   On Saturday he has some company coming over and when they're here I'll try to get some work done. If a creative mood hits me maybe I'll even get a video or two made.

A few of you have ask me about Dave … if he's able to help me?  He would if he could but his job requires that he travel every week. I'm not going to complain or have a pity party ….. I'm happy we have a job and we didn't have to move!!  Plus … I can handle it …..that's the beauty of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and working from home. I've also had some help from my friends …. Sandra & Tracy have been a huge help bringing us groceries (thank you both!!).

Thanks again for all your prayers, emails, comments, cards …etc.  You've all been so nice and I can't say thank you enough!!

Have a great day!!
