Rag Quilt Purse part two

Just a quick update…..Part two of the Rag Quilt Purse is ready.  Click here to head over to You Tube to watch it.  I'll load it on my Chic n Scratch Live! website as soon as I get a chance but I need to finish the typed instructions first. I'll try to have those finished tomorrow.

I've had a few ladies question if I'm going to get back to stamping and I just want to assure you I love stamping and of course I'm going to continue offering everything I have in the past.   But getting our house ready and making all these decisions are draining (I could have used several words but draining sounds good).  So, right now Quilting has become a life saver.  It brings me peace and makes me happy and I can sit at the machine & sew when my brain and my body is too exhausted to do anything else.

Who has a Kindle?  Who wants a Kindle?  Who has it on their Christmas wish list?  The reason I ask is my next sewing project is going to be a bag for my Kindle…..I hope it works out.  I don't have a patten but I'm thinking I can make one 🙂

Have a great night!!

p.s. I'm giving the Figgy Pudding Rag Quilt Purse to one lucky winner the first week of December.  Everyone that places a Stampin' Up! order with me in November will have their name entered to win….and stay tuned for a double entry opportunity.

p.s. I had three painters in my house yesterday…..they'll be back today and Friday the tile person will be here.

p.s.s. Update on the Rag Quilt Purse instructions….I typed half of the instructions yesterday and I'm working on it as fast as I can. Honestly it's a lot of steps & I'm struggling with getting it perfect.  (If I mess up……. your purse will not look right…..dealing with fabric can be a tad more expensive than cutting a piece of cardstock the wrong size.)

November Free Stamp Set

Good afternoon,

The Free Stamp set for November is going to be expanded…..instead of giving away one free stamp set to one lucky winner I'm going to give away 2 items.   The first name I draw will get their choice of either a Figgy Pudding Rag Quilt Purse or the Christmas Punch Stamp set.    The 2nd name drawn will win the remaining item.

I've got some news to share….. I've held off saying anything but I've worried some of you and it's time to share.  We are moving…..out of state.   That's all the details I can share right this minute (I will explain more later).  I'm frantic with trying to get the house in shape for us to put on the market.  I was in denial for a while and didn't act but the time has come for me to jump in with two feet. I've spent almost every waking moment stamping, blogging…. etc for the past few years and I'm sad to say I've neglected the house.   Dave & I both are trying to look at this as an opportunity to get rid of some of the clutter.

Mid November update……Dave was offered an opportunity for us to stay in the Kansas area and we are not moving.

With that being said…..my head is spinning with selling a house….buying a house ….. moving…& last but certainly not least my Stampin' Up! business.

I want to continue posting and providing customer support to all my wonderful customers and those of you that know me…know that I will try my hardest.  I'm also in the process of changing my Reward Punch Card….if you're a customer of mine and are working towards filling your card….not to worry your points will transfer over.  My goal is to make it easier to track and make it easier for you to redeem.  I'll post all the details as soon as possible.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!!

Deanna’s purse

Good morning!

I have one more purse to show you….Deanna’s flying home in a few hours and I wanted to show you the purse before she leaves. I took her to the fabric store on Friday and in less than 24 hours I made her this purse (while we talked I was sewing).

It’s missing the button to close it…..she’ll need to find a cute western button in Tennessee…..not that we don’t have them in Kansas City but we didn’t want to spend all our time together shopping.

Have a great day!

p.s. I will be making a video on how to make this purse with the Scallop Square Die.

Rag Quilt Purse

Good morning!

I'm super excited to show my purse…but I'll explain it a little first.  The first picture is off the Figgy Pudding Rag Quilt Purse made with the Scallop Square Die (it's not finished).  It's much easier to make them with the die because you can cut 8 squares at one time.  You need 38 squares and if you cut one at a time, that's 38 times :)  Here's the picture ……..

Scallop Square Figgy

I need to add the handles and the closing strap & then wash it.  The next picture is of the first one I made……cute isn't it? I could do a little better in some areas but it's my first and I love it!!

Figgy Pudding Purse

Some people choose to make their purses with six different fabrics…but I put my own twist on it & made it with only three. The next one I'll show you will have six……my baby sister is here this weekend and I took her to the fabric store to pick out her own fabric.

Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Click here if you'd like to place a Stampin' Up! order.

p.s. I've loaded the Quilted Flowers video on You Tube…it should be processed and ready to view in a few hours.

p.s.s. oops, my 12 Weeks of Christmas newsletter did not go out this week….I'll explain more later and you can expect 2 of them this next week.  (The project I made is so stinkin cute but it requires a few hours of work before I can share it.)

Batty For you Treats

Good morning!

I’ve totally neglected the Batty for you stamp set this year and I decided to break it out and get some Halloween treats made.   My sister is coming to visit later this week and I’m trying to get some goodies made to send back with her.

Batty for you

These treat holders are really easy to make and they hold all sorts of candy.  A bag of M&M’s, Skittles, Candy corn…etc.  I made a video last year and if you’d like to see how to make this Halloween Treat Holder, click here to go there now.

Have a great day!

p.s. Week four of my 12 weeks of Christmas will go out either tomorrow or Thursday.

p.s.s. Yes, I will share my photos of my Figgy Pudding Quilted Purse….just as soon as I get the handles attached….& I will make a video….just as soon as I make it with the Scallop Square Die.  This will make you laugh….I find myself not wanting to cut my fabric the same way I stock pile my Designer Paper….what makes us do that?

Cable, Phone & Internet

Just a quick note… if you tried to reach me today …my phone, internet & cable were not working (love the Digital package….except when we lose one we lose them all).

I'll get busy first thing in the morning …..returning emails and phone calls.

Goodnight!

p.s. Last night (between 8pm & midnight) I made my first Rag Quilt Purse (with the Figgy Pudding Fabric).  I made a traditional one first….. next….. I'm going to make one with the Scallop Square Die. 54 squares cut with the Scallop Die only needs to be ran through the Big Shot Die Cut Machine 9 times…..that sure saves having to cut all 54 squares one at a time!!!!

Brown wrapping paper

Good afternoon,

I was going to save this picture for later….but after receiving so many awesome comments and emails I decided to share it today.  (Weekend posts may be headed in the direction of just fun stuff.)

My picture is of the gift I covered with the brown wrapping paper & the Figgy Pudding Flower. (Can't find my big roll of brown paper so I dug out a grocery bag and cut it apart).

Figgypresent

Here's the picture of the flower before I added it to the box.

Figgypuddingflower

I used the Flower Folds Die and the Scallop Circle #2 Die to make the flowers and the Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon matches the Figgy Pudding Fabric. I thought about using the Chocolate but I went with the Olive since it's one of my favorite colors.

Have a great day!

Birdie Fabric

Hi,  I just couldn't resist showing you my latest fabric!!  It's "Birdie" by Me & My Sister for Moda Fabrics.  Don't you love the title? You know I love birds….as well as pinks & greens and I've decided to try my hand at making a purse.  I'll show you the fabric and then I'll answer some questions.

Birdiefabric

Q. How does this relate to stamping & Stampin' Up! ?  A. I'm using Big Shot dies to cut the fabric. The latest die I used was the Top Note Die.

Q.  What am I doing with all the flowers I'm making?  A. Christmas presents, Birthday Presents, Downline Presents, Incentives & I'm wrapping my gifts with Brown wrapping paper and attaching the flowers.

Q.  Am I making a quilt?  A. That's a tricky question….let's just say I'm working on my squares.

Q. You're making a purse?  A. When I was in Hawaii I had so many people ask me about the purse I was carrying….it was a purse that was quilted and I bought it at my sisters shop in Tennessee. (I had saved it for months just to use in Hawaii.)  I've since broken the handle and it's showing some age….so I'm going to attempt to make a new one :)  If you never see it you'll know I failed.  Here's a picture of the purse.

Quiltedpurse

It looks like they used a Charm Pack to me….has anyone seen this fabric anywhere?

Have a great weekend!
