Deanna’s purse

Good morning!

I have one more purse to show you….Deanna’s flying home in a few hours and I wanted to show you the purse before she leaves. I took her to the fabric store on Friday and in less than 24 hours I made her this purse (while we talked I was sewing).

It’s missing the button to close it…..she’ll need to find a cute western button in Tennessee…..not that we don’t have them in Kansas City but we didn’t want to spend all our time together shopping.

Have a great day!

p.s. I will be making a video on how to make this purse with the Scallop Square Die.

Brown wrapping paper

Good afternoon,

I was going to save this picture for later….but after receiving so many awesome comments and emails I decided to share it today.  (Weekend posts may be headed in the direction of just fun stuff.)

My picture is of the gift I covered with the brown wrapping paper & the Figgy Pudding Flower. (Can't find my big roll of brown paper so I dug out a grocery bag and cut it apart).

Figgypresent

Here's the picture of the flower before I added it to the box.

Figgypuddingflower

I used the Flower Folds Die and the Scallop Circle #2 Die to make the flowers and the Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon matches the Figgy Pudding Fabric. I thought about using the Chocolate but I went with the Olive since it's one of my favorite colors.

Have a great day!

Blessing Mix Box

Good morning!

I’m super excited to show you today’s project!!  Every year I make a Blessing Mix to put on our table Thanksgiving Day. Each person gets their own box and I’ll never forget the first year I made them (I was shocked when they were opened & eaten….I always save mine).

Blessing Mix Box 2009
I used the Box #2 Big Shot die to make the box and & used Crushed Curry Cardstock.  The Pheasant is from the Autumn Days stamp set and I stamped him with Soft Suede ink.   The Blessing Mix is Pretzels, candy corn, peanuts, bugles & orange slices and it’s in a Medium Cellophane bag.

I’m going to film the video either this evening or tomorrow and when I post it I’ll supply you with not only the Printer Friendly version but I’ll also include the Poem.

Two Tags & a Halloween Card

Good afternoon,

The projects I’m sharing with you today are not my creations. I received all three of them at Convention and I was doing the happy dance when I swapped with these ladies!!

The first project was made by Eva and she used the Two Tags die (page 198, item #115954).    She stamped it with the Holiday Best stamp set and the Little Boo stamp on the “Under $10 page“.   The paper is the Groom Specialty Paper on page 158.

The next project is from Terri and she used the Two Tags die as well.

The next project is the card from Michelle and I love it!!   She used the Halloween Frights stamp set with the Eat, Drink & Be Scary Stamp set.  The cardstock is Basic Gray and she used it with Cast a Spell Designer Paper.   Happy Halloween  can be found in the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.

Mini Baskets & Blooms Swap

Good morning!

My project today is what I made to swap with everyone at Founders Circle.  It's the Mini Baskets & Bloom box that I showed you a few weeks ago….I just decorated it a little differently.

Founders Circle 2009 swap

I used the Serene Snowflakes stamp set from the Holiday Mini Catalog and I stamped the snowflake with Bashful Blue Craft Ink and then embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder.   I punched it out with the Jumbo Snowflake Punch & attached a Clear Rhinestone Brad using my Chic Stand and Paper Piercer.  I attached the snowflake to the box using a Mini Glue Dot.

I stamped the small snowflakes on the box with White Craft Ink and sponged the edges with the white ink.  The last step was attaching the Satin Ribbon.

If you decide to use the Jumbo Snowflake punch with the Serene Snowflakes stamp set, they don't line up perfectly (I like it that way!!).  The snowflake that matches the punch is the Simple Snowflake stamp on the Under $10 page

Click here if you'd like to watch a video on how to assemble this Mini Baskets & Bloom box.

Here's the supply list:

  • Serene Snowflake Stamp set #115438
  • Jumbo Snowflake Punch #116628
  • Clear Rhinestone Brads #113144
  • Bashful Blue Craft Ink #105233
  • White Craft Ink #101731
  • Paper Piercer #116631
  • Mini Glue Dots #103683
  • Clear Embossing Powder #109130
  • Powder Pals #102197
  • Embossing Buddy #103083
  • Satin Ribbon #114616
  • Baskets & Bloom Die #113484
  • Big Shot Die Cut Machine #113439

Have a great day!!

p.s. Local ladies….Mark your Calendars…..Tuesday and Thursday come see a demo on how to make Quilted Flowers & a My Digital Studio page (your choice of what you'd like to see).  I'll post the hours on my blog on those days.

Tons of Quilted Flowers :)

Since I'm new to this quilting thing I'm like a kid in a candy store.  The fabric & the sound of the sewing machine….it's all so exciting!  It's just so amazing that I can make these all by myself :)  Once you get started I bet you can't make just one.  So far all I've done is make the flowers…the next step is to add the ribbon.  Once I do that they're finished.  You can add these flowers to your bag, presents & even make hair barrettes.

The fabric in the picture below is Figgy Pudding and I bought the charm packet at Quilters Haven in Olathe, Kansas.  Love the terminology….layer cakes and charm packets.

Quilt Flowers & More!!

Good morning!

Today's one of those days that I feel like a Chicken with it's head…you know (hate to say those words…the visual is just not good).  So, look at this picture and then I'll explain.

Quilt Flowers

When I was at Founders Circle, my most favorite thing was I made friends. (Angie I miss you!!!)  Words can't explain how I feel.  I'm so blessed that you all have chosen me to be your demo and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me earn Founders Circle!!  I really hope I earn it every year but if not I'll remember this one fondly!!

Now I'll explain the picture….The Big Shot works with fabric and you can use our Stampin' Up! dies to make all sorts of awesome things.  The flower you see next to the machine uses the Flower Folds die and the center flower is the Circle #2 die.

At Founders Circle my 5th level upline showed us how to make those darling quilted flowers. You can add them to your bags, presents or even squares for your quilts.   I've never quilted and I've never used a sewing machine.  But, you know me….I don't see obstacles I see possibilities.  So, I dug Brooke's sewing machine out of her closet.   The machine is a Janome and it doesn't have a walking foot….but again I don't give up when I set my mind on something.   I'm happy to say it worked and tomorrow I'll post a picture of all the flowers I made last night.  I will admit a bigger and better machine would be easier but for now this is free 🙂

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

p.s. The voting ends for my Creative Contest tomorrow at noon. As well as my special for while I was away (Free kit (minimum order of $50) or Double points on your reward card).

p.s.s. I didn't really explain why I feel like a chicken…..between My Digital Studio, Quilting with the Big Shot and all the awesome projects from Founders I'm on idea overload.  I wish I had more time!!
