Turn Wood Mount stamps into Clear Mount

I’ve had so many requests for this video, so I decided to film it.  Just remember that everyone has their favorites.  It doesn’t hurt to try new things…you may or may not like it. I’ve been a fan of Clear Mount for a while and as long as their available it will be my preference. No pressure to sway your decision  🙂

Thanks!

  1. When I converted my wood mounted stamps to cling style I had several to do so I used my wood burning tool to trim around the rubber. It didn’t hurt the rubber at all and went through the cling material like butter!

  2. Love the idea Angie,
How do you store your stamps after you convert them? Also, what do you do with the wood blocks? Any neat ideas on what to use them for?

  3. Hey Angie!

Just a quick tip! If you still want to have the image on the back of the stamp all you have to do is put the label on the foam and trim it. Then apply a light coating of Tombow Adhesive to the label and let it dry. You could also use Aleene’s Tack it Over and Over

If you are using the EZ Mount you can stamp on the back of it with Staz-On ink first and then trim it to fit your stamp.

Demonstrators get 25% discount off of ez mount foam purchased from Sunday International (includes all products sold in the store not just the ez mount foam). Just let them know before you place your order. There is a form you will have to fill out.

  4. Hi Angie,
I have been converting some of my Stampin’Up! sets as well. I am running out of space in my craft room. I have tried using the original SU mount on stamps that have never been mounted. I just cut around image if not die cut and then press the sticky side on my pant leg or sleeve to remove some of the stickiness. They seem to working fine. Sets that have been mounted, especially the older ones, work great with the EZ Mount. EZ Mount gets pretty expensive if you have many sets, like I do.
I am storing mine in standard size CD or jewel cases. I just did 80 sets and they fit in about 1/8 of the space…really makes a difference with the space issue.

  5. I just ordered 5 sheets of the EZ Mount. I had been using rubber cement on the back of my stamps but they were still too sticky. A friend had told me about EZ mount but I didn’t understand how it worked until you did this video. Thanks so much for all the ideas you give me. I never walk away from your site without learning something.

  6. Hi, I just put the lable on the back of the unmounted stamp and then cut a piece of the clear plastic that you can buy to cover your tables. Cut that the size of the stamp ,I run it through my zyron and cover the lable. The vinyl sticks better than the labels to the clear mount. So far I have just used the scraps from when I covered my tables. No extra cost. works great.
