Googly Ghouls Swap Card

Googly Ghouls swap cardMy card today is a swap card I received from Dani. I LOVE it and decided that this would be the first swap card I share …. especially since I’m crazy busy with making all 12 projects & videos for my 12 Weeks of Halloween.

Speaking of the 12 weeks of Halloween … I usually share those with my newsletter service …only ….. but this year I’m going to share it both in my newsletter and on my blog.  The reason I decided to change is many of you have an email service that sends my newsletters to your spam box ..or into lala land!!  So, that got me to thinking … how can I get it out to everyone ..without creating more work for myself….and what I came up with is posting it on my blog.

Without getting to technical I’ve started a new service to handle my email……I spent hours on Google trying to find a system to get my email box empty and how to stay on top of it… with a little help from David Allen & the app Evernote.  I’m super excited to get started with the Getting Things Done method!!  (Another tip I found was to get up at 3am once a week and check email for 4 hours … that may work ..I’m pretty sure I won’t get interruptions at 3am…or at least I hope not!!!)

Thanks for all the kind words about the Holiday Ornament … If you decide to make one …be sure to let me know ..and tell me how many have you made :)  ….who can make just one?

Congrats to Nancy Riley Holland!!! Your name was drawn to win the Holiday Ornament.  Nancy, please email me your shipping address.

p.s. I’m going to visit San Fransisco with my hubby later next week … for those of you that live there .. what would you recommend while I’m there.  I’m gonna skip the spa stuff and see some sights!!! (This will be my first trip to California and I’m soooo excited….and I’ve heard the weather is awesome.)

Halloween Toilet Paper Roll Basket

Halloween Toilet Paper Roll Basket
My project today is what we made on You Tube Live on Saturday.  It’s a Toilet Paper Roll Basket and the last time I made these were back in  2007.

Click here to see my 2007 Open House Baskets (picture is small but you should be able to see all the baskets).

How to make the Halloween Toilet Paper Roll Basket Video Tutorial

To make this project you’ll cut the toilet paper roll at 1-3/8″ on your Paper Cutter.

I used the Howlstooth Designer Paper from the Holiday Catalog  …along with the Monster Munchies stamp set.

The bottom of the basket is Basic Black and I cut it out with the 2-3/8 Scallop Circle Punch.  I reinforced the bottom with a 1-3/4 Circle.

The bat was stamped with Black Stazon ink and cut out with the 1″ Circle Punch.

The handle was made with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch with Basic Black and More Mustard and attached with Black Brads from the Neutrals Pack.

I used Black Taffeta Ribbon on each side of the handle and added Googlie eyes.

p.s.  Health update:  I’m getting therapy two to three times a week and I’m following the doctors orders … no stamping, no cutting or sewing …until I get the feeling back in my right hand.  I’m doing all my exercises and making sure my keyboard is very low so that I’m not lifting my arm.  I wanted to ask her yesterday …”how long is this going to take” …but I was afraid to hear what she would say.  I did ask her “if I was going to regain the feeling in my thumb” and she assured me I will.  It’s hard to believe it’s been numb and tingling for over two weeks!!
