My card today is a swap card I received from Dani. I LOVE it and decided that this would be the first swap card I share …. especially since I’m crazy busy with making all 12 projects & videos for my 12 Weeks of Halloween.
Speaking of the 12 weeks of Halloween … I usually share those with my newsletter service …only ….. but this year I’m going to share it both in my newsletter and on my blog. The reason I decided to change is many of you have an email service that sends my newsletters to your spam box ..or into lala land!! So, that got me to thinking … how can I get it out to everyone ..without creating more work for myself….and what I came up with is posting it on my blog.
Without getting to technical I’ve started a new service to handle my email……I spent hours on Google trying to find a system to get my email box empty and how to stay on top of it… with a little help from David Allen & the app Evernote. I’m super excited to get started with the Getting Things Done method!! (Another tip I found was to get up at 3am once a week and check email for 4 hours … that may work ..I’m pretty sure I won’t get interruptions at 3am…or at least I hope not!!!)
Thanks for all the kind words about the Holiday Ornament … If you decide to make one …be sure to let me know ..and tell me how many have you made 🙂 ….who can make just one?
Congrats to Nancy Riley Holland!!! Your name was drawn to win the Holiday Ornament. Nancy, please email me your shipping address.
p.s. I’m going to visit San Fransisco with my hubby later next week … for those of you that live there .. what would you recommend while I’m there. I’m gonna skip the spa stuff and see some sights!!! (This will be my first trip to California and I’m soooo excited….and I’ve heard the weather is awesome.)

Oh my there is so much to do in San Francisco. What do you like? Museums (science, art, cartoon, cultural)? Restaurants? Music? Touristy stuff? There is at least a weeks worth of things to do in each of those categories! I am a native of the City so I can give you some guidance.
My favorite place to visit when I go to San Francisco (I live about 120 miles away) is Golden Gate Park. Even if you just drive through it ~ a beautiful drive. The Japanese Tea Gardens are wonderful and so many other “must see” places just in the park. Then there are a zillion things to see outside the park !! Of course, driving over the Golden Gate is a diffinite.
Have a fun time !!
I don’t live there or anywhere near! But the one time I was there, the highlight was driving across the golden gate bridge into Sausalito and having dinner at this Italian restaurant…it’s the only one there so it won’t be hard to find!
Everything in San Fran is exciting, but above all – BRING A JACKET! Yes, even in August it can be cool. It’s how we knew who the tourists were. ha ha
I also live about 120 miles away from SF and one of the things I love to do when I’m there is to drive over the Golden Gate Bridge and just before you get to the turn off for Sausalito, take the turn and go towards the Marin Headlands. This road will take you up to the top of the mountain and on a clear day you can get an AMAZING view of SF and the bay and all it’s glory. Great picture taking opportunity! When you are done, then turn around and head back down the hill and then definitely go to Sausalito, it’s a tiny town and easy to get around and they have lots of cute shops too. The places that Cindy mentioned are great too!
Hey Angie! Dress in layers! Weather in the city fluctuates from one neighborhood to the next, so don’t get caught off guard.
Check out a musical at the Orpheum Theatre. I love Golden Gate Park too, such a beautiful place.
My favorite restaurants are Chow and Osha Thai. I miss the pumpkin curry at Osha Thai, it is sooooo good.
Have fun!
I miss SF. While I never lived there, I lived within driving distance and visited often.
Dressing in layers is smart. The wind coming off the bay can be chilly, but you will probably get warm walking around and looking in the shops. What do you like to do/see? The Palace of Fine Art is lovely, and you might recognize it from several movies. A trip to Alcatraz can be fun. Pier 39 is a great tourist stop, but it can get pricey if you like to shop. I LOVE the sourdough bread bowls. Yummmy! There is a bread store at the beginning of the pier that sells the BEST sourdough bread. I used to take a round home and eat it without any butter. It’s that good!
Fisherman’s Wharf is another place to stop. Catch a Giant’s game if you like baseball. There are museums and theaters. Golden Gate park is lovely, and you MUST drive over the Golden Gate Bridge, preferrably in a convertible. 🙂
Alcatraz, Pier 39, Lombard Street(windiest road in San Francisco) and definitely check out Gold Gate bridge. Take the tour at Alcatraz. Pier 39 is just full of a lot of things to do. Oh, check out China and Japan town. They’re awesome. A good restaurant to check out is on the far end of the street on the right side of Pier 39. Dang I can’t think of the name of it. Has really good food. Emeril Lagasse did a visit there on his tv show. Also you have to eat the crab down at Pier 39. The best! Make sure you bring a jacket, it can get mighty cool, ( cold I mean) in San Francisco. Maybe ride the trolley and take a ferry ride. Tyler Florence has a high end restaurant in the financial district that you might want to check out. So much do in San Francisco. Hope you have fun.
Love SF!! When we visited, we took a city tour on the double decker bus. It helped us have an idea of what was available and included a ride over the bridge, the park others talked about, the famous row of houses (7 sisters?) You can get on and off the bus or even ride it around twice w/o getting off. Alcatraz very interesting. It’s a great place to visit!!
