Island Oasis Scallop Circle

Good morning,

My card today was a working progress :) It went in so many directions that I finally said "enough". As it turns out ….I really like it. Sometimes I need to walk away and when I come back it hits me what I need to do.

I used the Scallop Circle Die to make the base of the card. The Island Oasis Designer Paper circle was cut with the Clear Circle die.

I took the flower from the Pretties Kit and used a Sponge Dauber to add some Tempting Turquoise ink to it. Then I added a Circle Ice Rhinestone Brad in the center. I attached the flower with a Stampin' Dimensional.

Happy Mothers Day!!

Every year for Mother's Day I get some time to myself to do what I want. Over the years, I've either chosen to read, scrapbook, go to the movies or stamp. Since we went as a family to see Iron Man 2 on Friday ….. I decided to stamp.

I wanted to just sit and stamp without thinking…. so…. what did I stamp? I worked on the May Free cards. I was really nice just sitting there for a few hours and all I did was stamp (in peace & quiet). I stamped 65 cards in less than two hours.

I should remember when I get stressed out to just sit and stamp for a while. It was wonderful!!

Favorite Thoughts

After making the Mother's Day card yesterday I decided to keep working with the buttons…..it's so much fun working with them. I encourage all of you to give it a try!

I used the Favorite Thoughts stamp set from the Summer Mini Catalog with the Island Oasis Designer Paper. Buttons are the same as yesterday….the Sherbet Designer Buttons.

I stamped the greeting with Black Stazon ink and sponged the edges with Pumpkin Pie Ink. I used embroidery thread with the buttons and attached them with a Mini Glue Dot (don't look to closely I should have lined them up better).

I've had a few ladies ask how I mail these cards….it's simple. Just cut a piece of heavy card stock or the white cardboard that comes with the Designer Paper and make a sandwich. The card in the middle and the cardboard on each side. And when you package it like that you do not have to add additional postage. As long as it fits through that thingy they have at the post office, extra postage is not required.

Mother’s Day Card

This is my Mother's Day card I'm sending this year. I love circles and yesterday I bought a magazine yesterday called Busy with Buttons. It inspired me to make this card. (I'm not sure there's even a card in there but just seeing the cover of the magazine reminded me to use my buttons.)

I used the Just Perfect alphabet set with Pumpkin Pie & Tempting Turquoise ink. After I stamped the images I punched them out with the 3/4 Circle Punch. The polka dot paper is from the Island Oasis Designer Paper from the Summer Mini Catalog (on page 27). The pumpkin button is from the Sherbet Designer buttons on page 181 in the Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog.

Summer Mini Motorcycle

Masculine cards are always needed and when I saw the Motorcycle stamp in the Summer Mini Catalog I knew I had to get it! You can get a lot of mileage out of this stamp and a pack of Chit Chat rub-ons. I've made a few of these in advance (with the Chit Chat Rub-ons) and I used "Rock on dude", "Good Luck", & "Happy Fathers Day".

If you placed an order at The Chic Stand while I was on vacation for Coasters, DVD's, Kits…. etc….. all orders were shipped yesterday.

I love this image what's included in the Go, Graduate stamp set!! I didn't have much time to work on this card…..I was trying to create as many posts as I could & this was the last one. The next card I make with all those shoes…I'll add some more color!!

Graduation card

Good morning,

Here's the first card I made with the Go, Graduate stamp set from the Summer Mini Catalog. I used the Well Scripted Stamp set with Black Stazon ink. The Black circle was made with the Pennant Big Shot die, the red circle is the 1 3/4 Circle Punch and the white circle was punched with the 1 3/8 Circle Punch.

I added a Stampin' Dimesional to the back of white piece and I think it makes the owl pop 🙂

Go Graduate Stamp Set

Today is the last day of April and I think I've shown you all the things you might want to order before they retire. Now it's time to switch gears and focus on the 2010 Summer Mini Catalog.

The next couple days I'm going to be showing you a few cards using the Go, Graduate stamp set. I had some requests that I show multiple projects using one set so that they could see the potential of each set. (I'm working on that.)

I love this simple card and in person it just makes you smile!! I think the owl is super cute and the other images are great too. (You'll see more soon.)
