Easter Cone

Easter Cone

Yesterday I was looking for some inspiration.  I had one of those blinding headaches and I needed help figuring out what to post on my blog today.  So, I went to my shelf of goodies (will clean it up and show you a picture soon) & I pulled out a few of these I made in January of last year.  I decided that it would make a cute jelly bean holder…or you could add some chocolate eggs.

I used the Sweet Pea Designer Paper and A Good Egg stamp set.  I love that Chick and every time I use it I think of my friend Gigi ( she sent it to me 🙂

Click here if you'd like to see the sample of of the one I made in January 2009 and the video.

Thanks for joining me!!

Magnet Board video

Good news….my video on how to make the magnetic board is posted on my Chic n Scratch Live! website.  Click here to go there now.

And here's a picture of another one 🙂

Blue & Chocolate Magnet board

The card stock flowers were covered with Crystal Effects and I have a video filmed and should have it loaded sometime tomorrow (I'm going to be out of the office most of today).

Felt flower magnet

The Felt flower was made with the Flower Layers w/Leaf Die. It's on page 199 and it's #113470 (I provided the number because we have several dies that have flowers and it can be a tad confusing).  Another good one to look at is on page 202, the Flowers Layers #3.

I'll update this post this evening with the supply list…sorry ….in a hurry this morning!

Have a great day!

See you tomorrow

No stamping for me today :(  I had to take Fluffy (our Bichon Frise) to the vet this morning, run some errands and I'm the chauffeur for Brooke & some of her friends this evening.

See ya tomorrow.

Savanna Bag Tutorial

How to make a Savanna Bag Video tutorial by Angie Juda

We share three sizes of the Savanna Bag in the video but we will demonstrate how to make the larger size.

Our scallop squares were cut with the Scallop Square Die but you could use a Charm Pack instead.  The squares are only slightly larger. But don’t forget to increase the size of your fusible fleece.

Update: I’ve combined all four videos into one video, here ya go….

Here’s four videos to show you how to make the Large Savanna Bag. Also known as the Savanna Purse.

I used the Big Shot Die Cut Machine with  the Scallop Square die to cut the fabric.

Savanna Bag??

Savanna bag

Good morning :)

I need some help naming this bag….Would you like to help?  Here's the scoop……

I made the smaller version for my niece Savanna for Christmas.  Then I made a larger version for myself but messed it up in a few places.  Now I've made an even larger version (on the right).  I love all three but the larger one will allow me to carry everything my normal purse holds.   I tried calling my sister & a few of my friends that usually help me name stuff & they're not available (Kim's still at the hospital with Kelsey and going on a few days of little sleep).

Here's my thoughts…I need a name & would like to have Chic in there somewhere….but maybe not.   Since I made the first bag for Savanna, should we just call it the Savanna bag?   But I have three sizes….what do I call them?  Savanna….small, medium or large…Help!!!  Any ideas?   I'll draw a name for some blog candy from all the names I receive:)

I have a video filmed & as soon as I decide a name I'll share it.

Thanks!!!

p.s. This bag was made the Big Shot & Scallop Square Die 🙂

Petal Card Valentine Treats

Petal card treats

I whipped out these goodies real fast this morning and I made all of them while I was on the phone (see end of post for details).

All you need is the Petal Card die & you make them with Felt that you can pick up just about anywhere (even Wal-mart).  I doubled the felt…meaning I folded it over and ran it through the Big Shot.  And, it works like a dream!!

Petal Card
The first picture of them….I just added the candy inside and folded the flaps over & tied it with some ribbon. They will hold some Sweet Tarts, M&M's or a Ghirardelli Chocolate.
Pink Heart

The next way to use the very same die is cut off the bottom two flaps and you have a heart.  I did a Blanket Stitch around the sides.  Punched two holes using the Crop a Dile & then added some handles (I should re-do the handles..I was in a hurry & threw it together).  When adding the handles make sure you punch the holes more to the left & right and not in the center.  On the red one I made …it doesn't look right with the holes in the middle.  Here's what they look like with some candy.

Felt hearts

They look better than the picture…I need one of those hanger things to hold them up!!

Would you like to see a video on how to make this? I'd be happy to film it but I never know what to film or not to film 🙂   If you'd like to see how to do a Blanket stitch, click here to watch my video (older video making the candy corn bag).

p.s. Please keep my nephew in your prayers!!  He turned 20 yesterday and on his way to a friends house he hit some black ice.  He crashed into an embankment, had to bust out his window to get out, cell phone had no coverage and he had to walk to his friends house.  Once he got there he collapsed & they drove him to the ER.  Not sure how he made it with his injuries…… God works in mysterious ways!!   He should be okay but his injuries require some surgery today.   Days like today I sure miss living near my family!!

Checking in…..

Just checking in…..I didn't feel myself this weekend so I laid around and took it easy. I did watch the Super Bowl with Dave and since I always vote for the underdog I was thrilled the Saints won the Super Bowl …and what a game it was!!   (My sister Kim will be shocked…yes I watched a football game.)

I'll be back later today to share something……if I'm not up to stamping I may share a few swaps I received at Leadership.

Thanks!!

Mini Milk Carton Birdhouse

Olive birdhouse

My project today is something that I've wanted to make since I saw Patty's version at Leadership.  I would have made it on the spot if I could have gotten my hands on some supplies!!  As you all know I love birds & birdhouses and I collect both bird cages & birdhouses.

Did I share with you the story of how Dave woke up one morning and said I couldn't buy one more bird house or cage. He had a dream that they all came crashing down on him….isn't that funny?

To make the birdhouse it's soooo easy.  All you need is the Mini Milk Carton die (found in the Occasions Mini Catalog), a piece of 2 x 4 cardstock and the Extra Large Two-Step Bird.   You score the 2 x 4 card stock in half at 2" and just assemble.  I'll be making a video once I decide which version to use for Stamp ClubClick here to head over to my Chic n Scratch Live! website to watch the video.

Supply List:

  • Mini Milk Carton Die #117310
  • 1 1/4 Circle Punch #104403
  • Extra Large Two-Step Bird #117191
  • Texture Plates Kit #4 #114531
  • Big Shot Die Cut Machine #113439
  • Soft Suede Card stock #115318

Sweet Pea Make n Take Helper

Make n take helper

Isn't this the cutest thing ever?  I love it so much I hid it and then it took me a week to find it :)  (do you ever do that?)

I was a Make n Take helper at Leadership and I had a blast!!  Donna made us these darling things to wear and after the first day I stopped wearing mine because I was afraid I would lose it.

Here's the list of supplies she used:

  • Sweet Pea Stitched Felt #117266
  •  Flower Layers w/Leaf big shot die 113470
  •  Extra Larger Fancy Flower Punch #118073 (found in the Occasions Mini Catalog)
  •  Rose Red 1" Double Stitched #111846
  • White Decor Elements Sheets #114335
  • The alphabet used was one they use in office for signs…but you could use the Naturally Serif #113453

The colors go really well with my Bella Rose Apron & if you attend one of my classes or clubs you'll be seeing me wear this.

Club girls….what do you think….do you want to make one of these?  (minus the Make n Take words.)   Send me an email and let me know.

Tomorrow I'll be posting the details for my Class/Kit featuring the very same projects we made at Leadership.  After making them I decided I liked them so much I should offer them to everyone.

Thanks for joining me!

Paperwork day

I'd love to say I have a cute card or project to show you but ….I can't.  I've been hard at work trying to implement some ideas I received from Leadership (how to add additional support to my team members).  I finished my Dec month end paperwork and I've gotten a handle on my email.

I'll be back tomorrow with a set of simple but cute cards 🙂

Thanks!
