Monster Hugs Valentine Treats

 MonsterHugs_b

The project I’m sharing with you today is the Monster Hugs Valentine Treat Holders and you have a few days left to order them.  (Available until January 27th.)

You have a choice between boy or girl and you get 18 per package for $5.95.  They will hold the following candy … and maybe more

  • Hershey Nuggets – 2 of them
  • Nerds – small box
  • Valentine Sucker
  • Laffy Taffy
  • Kit Kat  candy bar – snack size

Or you can make a box to hold some Hershey Kisses.

The Coastal Cabana card stock measures 3-3/4 x 3-3/4 and you score it on two sides at 7/8 and the other two sides at 1-1/2.

Here’s a picture of the template.

In my video today I demonstrate how to make them the traditional way … and the box.

Personal  Note:

Holy Cow … what a day I had yesterday!!  We woke up to our heat not working … and then our internet and phones went down … and the list continues.  As you can image I was totally freaking out!! So…. I will apologize again … if you’ve tried to reach me over the past month and failed … please call me 913.901.7551.  My email box has thousands and at this point it’s safe to say I’m never getting to the bottom … as hard as I may try!!!

You want to know what I did while I was pouting?  I took an external hard drive and copied every family picture to it that was taken between 2006 and 2012 (each computer in this house has pictures …. that was iMac #1).  My goal is to have my external drive hold every single picture of my family, friends and pets on one hard drive that I can keep in a safe … for just in case.  After yesterday … I decided I needed to take action immediately.  I’ve started with a 1 TB external hard drive … lets see how far I get!

Have a wonderful day and thank you!!!

p.s. Our heat is working on and off ….. when my hubby gets home he needs to look at it … my hands are totally frozen at the moment (not really .. but you know what I mean?).

  1. Hi Angie,
Cute valentine ideas. Hope you can get your heating back to normal. It’s too cold to not have it. Try wearing fingerless gloves to keep your hands warm. I sometimes use them when I crochet because it’s cold in the house. Have a nice day. Wal-Mart sells some fingerless gloves/ mittens.

  2. Hey Angie, hope things are going better today. You certainly deserve better. When I know you are this busy and I have an SU question I call Stampin’ Up to clear it up and I hope others will do the same to help you out until this heat and equipment thing is cleared up. I have a “craft crush” for you and this site and I don’t want you to get stressed and decide not to share anymore. So thank you for all you do and for sharing your wonderful talent with us. Now, the next thing for you to do is tell Dave you all need to move to Florida where it is warm instead of the frozen tundra of Kansas where on a daily basis things are iffy. Just my 2 cents worth and not written to upset anyone. LOL!!!!! Big hugs to you all! Johnnie

  4. The monster treat boxes are just simply too cute! Thanks for showing how to add the box insert. Very useful idea. Hope you are able to back up your pics to a safe place quickly. If there is something that can make me lose my mind quickly is thinking I have lost pictures. You seem to be doing what is necessary so I’m sure it will all be fine. Yolanda

  8. Angie, I hope your days is better today. Sometimes when it rains, it really pours, so-to-speak. May I make suggestion? Have a second external hard drive, flash drive, or something and keep it in a safe deposit box at a bank or some place where you can grab it quickly in an emergency. Why, you ask? Because I lost my house and everything in it in a house fire due to wild fires that struck our community a little over 2 yrs ago. Our community lost 26 homes… I talked to several of the people and discovered that although some of the safes that were in the homes technically “survived”, the contents inside the safes did not. The heat was so intense, most of the contents were ash, melted, or completely destroyed, including jewelry, metals, etc. Have a great rest of the week. 🙂

I love these little cuties, asked my 10 year old Granddaughter if she might like to make these for her class. She gave me a big thumbs up and said “wow, they are adorable” So I am off to place my order. Thanks as always, Now I know what our crafty Valentine for this year is.

  13. Hello, I have my external hard drive & I thought about that last year, just out of the blue…just thinking of fire. I don’t know why but just worried. I think it was when I went with my mom & dad to get their safety deposit box & I considered it to put my hard drive in the box. I have last years pics on it from my main camera that has an XD card, which my laptop doesn’t have a port for, so that is why I haven’t finished. Great idea for you to do this. Anyway….I LOVE THE VALENTINES! These are great for grown ups too!! Thanks for showing these.

  16. Thanks for sharing your inspiration as usual. I just wanted to share that we use an online back up service (Carbonite) and it backs up every new file automatically. I love it. I never have to remember to back up and know it is always done. We have had this service for over 3 years. I subscribed when I thought are computer was dying and am so glad I did because 2 days later the hard drive crashed. I was so thrilled that I had this service. This would work great with all your business and personal files. Just wanted to share since I’m sure your backing up took hours. 🙂
