This post doesn’t have a picture but it does have a video.
Click here if you’d like to watch the video on how to turn your wood mount stamps into clear mount using ez mount (you can google it to find a source).
I’ve had so many ladies ask me how I convert my wood mount stamps to clear mount stamps and am I doing all of them?
I’d like to start by saying “heck no, I’m not converting all of them”. That would be way to time consuming and expensive. But, here’s my way of thinking:
I alter my stamps a lot. If an image has words with it, if it’s possible I put the words on the side of the wood. If the phrase, isn’t something I’ll use, I cut it off. (I know…gasp …it will be okay 🙂 Here’s an example….look on page 56 of the Idea Book & Catalog and check out the Fun & Fast Notes stamp set. I love that set but I never say “thanks for sharing you with me”…..so I cut off “you with me” and now my stamp says “thanks for sharing” (now that sounds totally like me).
I’ve converted some of my wood mount into clear because I like seeing where I’m stamping it without using the Stamp a ma jig. Tune in next month & you’ll totally see what I mean when I show you a new stamp from the Summer Mini Catalog. (As a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator we get to pre-order new sets next month and they’ll be available for customers starting May1st.)
Thanks!
I have converted ALL of my SU stamps to clear mount. I did not use EZ Mount, however, I found a company that makes similiar cling mount foam and you can buy it buy the roll-same thing. EZ Mount can be expensive and this was a much more reasonable price. I think that was $95 for 75 feet. I have done about 100 SU sets and some non-SU stamps and still have tons left! Saves tons of space and easier for crops. I use a hot knife tool, though to get into grooves. And I do alter my stamps, too. For example, I took the sentiments off the Very Thankful stamp set. All I need to do is buy more SU acrylic blocks. I found having 1 off each is not comparable to having each on a woodblock ready to go. And yes, the SU clear blocks are SO worth it. Very ergonomic, especially if you have a lot to stamp or go to a weekend crop.
thank you for the suggestion!!
