Stacking Matchbox

Here's a cute & simple way to package little treats with the Matchbox Big Shot Die
You can stack them, tie some ribbon around it and then the person you give it to has three little boxes to open.

I love stuff like this!!  You can fit little pieces of candy, jewelry & even a little note.
For the older nieces & nephews I put cash inside the box.  Last year I put their cash inside the Pillow Box

On the picture above I used the Sweet Season Stamp set with Old Olive Ribbon.

The next picture I used the Sparkly & Bright stamp set & colored the star with a YoYo Yellow Marker. I punched the tree with the 1 3/8 Circle Punch, added it to the Real Red Scallop Circle & pierced the scallops with the Paper Piercer & my Chic Stand.

If you're interested in checking out the details for my 2010 Occasions Mini Catalog Product Shares coming Dec. 29th, click here.

Now I need to explain how I made the Matchbox yesterday.   Instead of adding the sliding lid, I cut off half of it and attached it to the back side.  I'm terrible at wording this…..do you want me to film a video? I could do a short & sweet one real fast on Monday.

Thanks for joining me!!

p.s. Can I whine just a little? I was gone 90% of today/tonight and tomorrow will be even be worse 🙁

Matchbox Die

My Project today is another Reindeer Food (I hope you're not tired of them).
This time of year we're always looking for little gifts we can make real fast.

This time I used the Big Shot Matchbox Die and it's on sale right now with the 12 Days of Holiday Sales

I'm showing the inside of the box first 🙂
Here's the same box and instead of oatmeal I added four Hershey Nuggets (I usually cover them with Designer Paper but I ran out of time).

Here's the cover of the box and the scallop circle is from the Pennant Die (one of my favorites just because it has a large scallop…I'm still crossing my fingers for a larger scallop circle punch in the next catalog!!).  The Pennant Big Shot die is also one of the items on the 12 Days of Holiday Sales.

The Reindeer from the Sparkly & Bright stamp set was stamped with Soft Suede ink and I colored his nose with the Real Red Marker.  I used the 1 3/8 Circle Punch with the 1 3/4 Circle Punch.  The snowflakes are from the Serene Snowflake Stamp set from the Holiday Mini Catalog.

I'll be honest I had a few extra Reindeer on my desk and it made using it really easy….December is the month we find ourselves doing everything in fast forward mode.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Reindeer Food….again :)

Here’s two more versions of the Reindeer Food.  They all share the same colors, using Kraft Card stock, Starkly & Bright Stamp set & sponging with Close to Cocoa ink.

The Reindeer Food poem is printed and attached to the back.  Click here if you’d like to print the Reindeer Food Poem.

The Kraft card stock measures 5 1/2 x 3 1/2 and you score it at 1 3/4, 2 1/2 &4 1/2.  The red cardstock is 3 1/2 x 1 1/4 and use the Scallop edge punch.
I have a video on a smaller version of this and if you’d like to see how to assemble it, click here to watch the Halloween Treats Holder (just remember to use the measurements above).

The next picture is the same thing….I just made it larger and used the greeting from the Sparkly & Bright stamp set instead of the Merry Christmas from the Teeny Tiny Wishes.

This one measures 8 1/8 x 3 1/8 and you score it at 1, 4 & 5.  The red cardstock is 3 1/8 x 1 1/4.

Don’t forget to add Crystal Effects to his nose to make it shine 🙂

Reindeer Food

I’ve made three versions of Reindeer Food this year and today I’m showing you the one that looks similar to the one I make each year.

I stamped the Reindeer from the Sparkly & Bright stamp set with Chocolate Chip ink.  The topper measures 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 and you score it at 2 3/4.
I printed the poem on my Kraft card stock using Printmaster software (on my old computer that has died).  If you’d like the poem, I have it posted on my other website.  Click here to go there now. Once you print the poem, trim it to fit whatever size topper you choose to use.

The Real Red Card stock measures 4 1/4 x 1/2″ and I used the 1 3/8 Circle punch on the Reindeer.

The Reindeer Food is a mixture of Oatmeal and red Cookie Sprinkles.  I put the mixture in a Small Cellophane bag that we have on page 159 of our Idea Book & Catalog. You get 50 bags for $3.95 🙂

Snowman Soup

I make Snowman Soup every year for the holidays and this is my version this year.  I get such a kick out of making these!!

I used the snowman from the Christmas Punch stamp set but if that’s a set you don’t have you could use Two Cool Dudes or Punch Pals.  I realize it’s a Level two hostess set & some of you may not have it.

I used Bashful Blue Craft ink with Clear Embossing Powder and embossed the Snowman tag, then I punched it out with the Tag Punch.  I tied the 1″ Bashful Blue Double Stitched Ribbon around the tin and added the tag with Silver Elastic Cord.

The Snowman Soup poem is added to the back and here’s the poem:

Was told you’ve been real good this year, always glad to hear it!
With freezing weather drawing near, you’ll need to warm the spirit.
So, here’s a little Snowman Soup, complete with stirring stick.
Just add hot water & sip it slow.  It’s sure to do the trick!

The ingredients are:

  • Hot Coca Packet
  • Hershey Kisses
  • Marshmallows (aka freeze dried snowballs)

Christmas Shopping Notebook

Good morning!
My project today is my Christmas Shopping Notebook and I take it with me everyone I go (just like my Kindle).  Every year I make a Christmas Wish List for my shopping but this year I needed something bigger and I didn't have time to make it.  I love making altered notepads but you know this year has been kinda busy & stressful.

I found this notepad at a local craft store and I added the Stampin' Up! Real Red 3/4 Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon.  After adding the ribbon I felt it just needed a little something extra so I used the Merry Embosslit & made a tag.  I ran the Embosslit through the Big Shot….. I trimmed it, traced the Merry with a 2 Way Glue Pen and added some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.   I attached it with Silver Cord (can be found on page 27 of the Holiday Mini Catalog) after I pierced it with the Paper Piercer on my Chic Stand 🙂

Supply List:

  • Merry Embosslit #116820
  • 3/4" Real Red Polka Dot Ribbon #115608
  • Silver Elastic Cord #109866
  • Dazzling Diamonds Glitter #102023
  • 2 Way Glue Pen #100425
  • Whisper White Cardstock #100730
  • Paper Piercer #116631
  • Big Shot Die Cut Machine #113439
  • Chic Stand

Have a great day & thanks for stopping by!

p.s. Thanks for the emails……I will shoot a Live Broadcast when I open my Occasions Mini Catalog pre-order.

Candy Holder

My project today is a candy holder and I can't think of what those chocolate sticks are called…..but ……I know they're yummy!

Candy holder

To make this candy holder all you need to do is take a piece of Merry Moments Designer Paper, cut it at 10 1/4 x 2 3/4.  Then scallop your ends with the Scallop Edge punch and then score it at 3".   Attach the sides with two brads.

Super fast, super easy and I bet you could make one of these for a boy (minus the ribbon) ….I'll work on that!  I've had lots of request for boy stuff so I'll try to whip out some masculine ideas (I'm not sure I'm good at it …but I'll try).

The items used on this project are the Merry Moments Designer Paper, Chit Chat Rub-ons, Soft Suede Polka Dot Ribbon, Gold Brads & Real Red Cardstock.

Now for a Quilting note….I glanced over the Dormant Retiring Stamp List today and guess what I saw….the Quilt Quips stamp set :O   I caught myself thinking "should I order myself another one of those just in case I misplace it" (do you ever do that?). And….. since that sent my brain in the direction of Quilting with the Big Shot Die Cut Machine I thought I would share with you my latest fabric.

Leanikafabric
It's Leanika by Dena and I'll warn you …….  it was just released & not very easy to find.  I'm sure once it's been out a while you should be able to find it.

I bought the Fat Quarters and then cut all of them with the Scallop Square Die (all three purses I've made uses those squares).  Someone ask if I thought the die would hold up cutting all that fabric……and I'd have to say yes.  It's still going strong!! Although I'll be honest & say I'm ordering another one just in case (maybe even two).

Have a good night & see ya tomorrow.

Click here if you'd like to place a Stampin' Up! order.

p.s. technical question here….does anybody use a blog editor program on their mac and would you recommend it?  I've googled the choices for hours today and I just can't decide which one to try.

Two Tags Bigz Die

The project I'm sharing with you today is the only thing I stamped over the holiday weekend.  It's sad but true!  These darling tags were some of the projects that we made at Convention this summer…..except I didn't make mine until today.

Holiday Tags

These tags were made with the Two Tags Bigz Die and I can't believe I haven't used that Big Shot die yet.  Watch out ….I think I might be on a roll for making some cute little tags!!

I used the Sweet Season Stamp set with Chocolate Chip & Real Red.  I punched the images out with several punches….. Small Oval, Wide Oval, Scallop Circle, 1 1/4 Circle & 1 3/8 Circle.

Tomorrow night (Monday, Nov. 30th) is the end of my Black Friday & Cyber Monday sale and if you have any questions, feel free to contact me either by phone or email.

Click here if you'd like to place a Stampin' Up! order.

Here's what kept me busy most of the weekend…..

Tree in kitchen

I put up my Christmas trees……. the first two pictures are of MY tree….I call it my all white tree (white is my favorite color…even though some say it's not actually a color).

Kitchen tree

The next picture is of my silver tree…….pretty isn't it?

Silver Tree

The next picture is of my Fairy Christmas Box.  Before I started stamping I collected Dragonflies & Fairies and I was very lucky to find this box!  I believe it was at a shop in Crete, Illinois.

Fairy Christmas Box

I'm still working on our big tree and I'm trying to get my Snow Villages set up.  Now I can see why I skipped putting them out the past few years!!

See ya tomorrow!

Gift Card Purse

My project today is a Gift Card Holder.   The first picture is of the one I made using the Christmas Punch Stamp set with the Christmas Cocoa Specialty Paper.

Gift Card Purse

Did you notice something different about the Soft Suede Polka Dot Ribbon?  The dots were a little too busy for me so I decided to sandwich two pieces of ribbon together.  (I applied adhesive to one side & stuck them together.)

Here's a picture of the inside where I used the Christmas Greetings stamp set.  The red strip up top is where you place the Gift Card.
