My project today is a My Digital Studio Project. It's a welcome to my team post card for my new recruits (ignore the hole in the middle…I hide the message so that they can read it when it arrives at their house).
As a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator we're allowed to pre-order product one month before it's release ….and the Occasions Mini Catalog starts in January. So, the Sweet Stitches Designer Paper Digital Download was available on Dec. 1st. How could I resist not using it for my welcome post cards? I love it!!!
To make these Postcards I created a blank page project using My Digital Studio and created one postcard….sizing it to 5 1/2 x 4 1/4. I then saved it as a jpeg. Next I went into Pages or Word and selected to add an image….. I added the postcard image four times …making sure I changed my margins to zero that that it would print to the edge.
For my Ustream fans… Stamp with Chic n Scratch will be on tomorrow at noon (central time).
Have a great weekend!!
p.s. For all you Digital Scrapbookers out there….. I want to add a new printer to my Christmas Wish List. I want it to print actual scrapbook pages. Do you have a printer you love and would recommend it? I've looked at the Epson 1400 a dozen times and it's even on sale..but I'm scared (purchased too many printers that went dead too soon). Also looked at Canon.
An HP laser printer would serve you for ages! Laser printers are bulkier than inkjets but have a long life. They’re expensive but compensate easily in the money spent on inks.
I’m a FIRM believer in HP products! I too have purchased many printers, and HP has been the only one I’ve had success with. They have a printer that will print 12×12 pages … sorry don’t know the name of it.
Good Luck!
I considered a 12×12 printer too but decided the cost of ink would not be worth it…as you can order prints online for not too bad a price relative to the hassle of the ink. It’s tempting but I just think it would eat so much ink! Your postcards are cute, btw. See you tomorrow – I hope I’m not late, we are cutting our tree in the morning! My DD is coming from University to help pick it out!
I have HP for printing. It just works the best. It’s supposed to print the nest quality (tech stuff I learned) but I print my 12×12 and 8×8 at costco. Its pricey but I think better in the end.
I “LOVE” my Epson 1400. I have had it for a few years now, and I print all of my own photos and pages. The quality is crisp and clear. The ink can be a bit pricey, $120 for all 6, but I buy mine at Office Depot using a rewards card, so I get $ back on a gift card every three months. I think it is $12 back for every 6 cartrideges, making it $108 for 6.
I usually buy ink 4 times a year and like I said, I print A LOT!!! I have not had any problems with my printer and I have moved it from room to room, and even from another house and it spent a week in a UHAUL truck, in the hot July waether of Lousiana.
Sorry, this is so long. Good Luck with your quest for a new printer.
I love my Epsons. I’ve had Canon, HP, Lexmark and Epson. I feel the printing quality is far superior than other printers. I don’t have the 1400. But I’ve had my Epson Picturemate Deluxe that I’ve had for about 6 years. I also have the RX700 all-in-one that I’ve had for about 4 to 5 years. Both excellent quality and are what I use on a daily basis. I also do a lot of printing and printing of pictures.
I have a HP Photosmart Pro, it’s an old model B8350, and it prints up to 13×19″, it’s great! Mine has only two inks, the new model B8550, which I’m hoping to get, I think has 5, but they are sold in packages. I would recomend this one. I have had other HP but this one is so far the best.
And you can also print in small formats or for daily printing.
You can print 12×12 pages at Costco- where available at a very reasonable price.

Angie I have the HP B8550 and it works great for digital scrapbooking. I even bought the continuous feed ink system (saves a lot of money). I love it
I have the HP 9800 wide format printer – I’ve had it for a couple of years. I love it!
