Stamp a Stack – Party Hearty

Party_hearty_christmas Good morning!!

A few of you have ask to see this card a little better and since I never got around to stamping yesterday it’s the perfect time to post it 🙂  This card was inspired by a card that was swapped with one of my roommates at  Convention.  I really liked the original but had to put my own spin on it.

(If you ordered the Holiday Stamp a Stack..I’m going to retake the picture in day light and paste it in the directions….this picture seems a little dark.)

Let’s revisit yesterdays post…….I knew I wasn’t alone and feeling out of control by myself 🙂  I got lots of emails but couldn’t get to them all yesterday…I developed a horrible headache and actually had to lay down.   So, I’m going to post the secret  here..it’s so simple you may laugh…but it’s working.

I have found that breaking down my to do list and looking at each day helps me…if you make one big list…it will never get done…it’s so overwhelming and then I walk around in circles not knowing where to begin…..(aka walking around like a chicken with it’s head cut off…) sorry…bad visual but that’s how I feel some days.  Here’s what I started….
I have one notebook and I write the day of the week at the top of the page. Then I list all the things I must do that day….at the bottom I write optional things that I need to do but can wait a day or two.  So, I make sure every day I check off every single thing that was a must and it’s working…here’s an example….
Thursday
* Run commission reports
* Finish Customer Appreciation cards
*Send Deanna’s money (using my sisters name as an example)
*Place Kim’s order  (using my sisters name as an example)
*Create project for blog
Friday
*Pick up sunglasses
*Make hubby’s sandwiches for fishing trip
*Type instructions for Stamp a Stack
*Finish 12 weeks of Christmas newsletter
*Stamp card for blog
The notebook keeps me focused because I’m easily distracted.  One more thing….that notebook is only used for my to do list…that’s it!!
Maybe this will help you too 🙂
Have a great Saturday!!
p.s. I was not able to finish my "Friday to do list" because of my headache…I’ll finish my 12 weeks of Christmas asap!!!

  1. So glad you’re feeling better & finding a way to get things under control. Most people never learn & continue to live under stress that could be managed. I find that as I get older, a list is the only way I can get ANYTHING done! LOL

  2. Such a simple idea, but it sure does work. I’m retired and I still need to keep a “To Do” list to make sure I keep focused. Most of my “To Do” list is fun things, but I still like to work them into my day.

  3. Angie, I’m so glad the daily list is working for you. I’ve been doing that myself for a very long time and it indeed helps keep me from feeling overwhelmed with so much to get done. Another tip I learned awhile ago is when you don’t have a lot of time to really take on something major, just set a timer for 15 min. and do as much as you possibly can within that 15 min. Sounds silly, but I couldn’t believe how much I could actually do in just 15 min. Before that I would just tell myself I don’t have time to do this and that. I think I started to race the timer and it’s so easy! My sister tried it too and loved it! Believe it or not, it really works! Have a wonderful weekend!

  4. First of all, I wanted to tell you THANK YOU for offering so many awesome tutorials and great videos. You will never know how much you have taught me sitting right here in my own home. As a brand new stamper, this has been a tremendous blessing! I love all the projects you share and have tried many of them. I just wanted to say that your post about breaking down each day’s TO DO list was a God send. I get so overwhelmed and like you said, not sure where to start but this was a great relief for me to read! I love the idea of one notebook just for that and have a brand new one that I will start to use! I will even alter it so nobody else grabs it and starts writing in it! Thank you for everything!!!
    Hugs,
    Bridgett
