Clear Block Cards

Faith in Nature Card My title today is a little funky …I wasn't sure how to word it ….but here's what it means …. I created the background with a Clear Block (letter C).   I applied Pear Pizzazz ink to the Clear Block and then stamped it onto my Whisper White card stock.  Next I applied Early Espresso ink to the Faith in Nature image and then stamped it.

I've wanted to show you how to create a background with a clear block technique for a while but I was saving it for some new stamps. I'll work on filming a video today …but it may not be ready until tomorrow or Saturday (our internet connection keeps coming and going today and we may have to call someone). I'll post some additional cards when I post the video .

Here's a few more cards …. and a group shot.

Clear Block cards These cards measure 3 x 3 and I used the Button Buddies stamp set with the Merry Winter stamp set for the winter card. I used Baja Breeze ink.
Button Buddies card The final card I'm sharing today is using Pool Party ink with the Workshop Words stamp set that we were given at Convention.  If we attended five classes we got this set free.  I was thrilled!!  I almost didn't get it because I didn't feel well this year and I had to skip a few classes …but on the final day I rallied and went to all my classes to complete my five.

Workshop Words card Now for a little story for you …I love telling stories …must be the southern girl in me!!

Many years ago I went to my first Stampin Up Convention in Orlando and I was so excited about going ….but the one item I couldn't wait to get was the little stamp that was included in the lunch box.  So, everyday I rushed to get my lunch box and turns out that's the year they stopped doing that.  I still crack up about that!! Turns out I won Prize Patrol that year and the gift was really awesome …so I guess it made up for it.

Have a great day!!

p.s. Don't forget to make sure your address is correct on my Stampin Up! site by noon tomorrow (Friday) see details on previous post.

Clear Block Storage Caddy & a make believe Chic Stand

Good morning,

Yesterday I was filming a video of me opening the box to my Clear Block Storage Caddy (#120279)…..but ….in the middle of filming….it hit me that the foam material in the Caddy….is the same material as the Chic Stand.

So, long story story short….if you buy the Clear Block Storage Caddy…you’ll get a whole assortment of Chic Stands …. minus the name on it 🙂

Click here if you’d like to see the video….although ….this is a remake of the video…..I got so excited I had to stop it and start all over….you will more than likely see bits & pieces of it on my next bloopers video.

Here’s a couple pictures for you.

How to keep Clear mount stamps in the case

Over the past few months I've received a ton of emails asking me how to keep the Clear Mount images from rolling around in their case ….or from falling out when you open the box.

I have the perfect solution and I filmed a video to show you just how easy it is……. and you don't have to spend a dime to do it 🙂

Turning Wood mount stamps into Clear Mount

This post doesn't have a picture but it does have a video.

Click here if you'd like to watch the video on how to turn your wood mount stamps into clear mount using ez mount (you can google it to find a source).

I've had so many ladies ask me how I convert my wood mount stamps to clear mount stamps and am I doing all of them?

I'd like to start by saying "heck no, I'm not converting all of them".  That would be way to time consuming and expensive.  But, here's my way of thinking:

I alter my stamps a lot.  If an image has words with it, if it's possible I put the words on the side of the wood.  If the phrase, isn't something I'll use, I cut it off.  (I know…gasp …it will be okay :)  Here's an example….look on page 56 of the Idea Book & Catalog and check out the Fun & Fast Notes stamp set.  I love that set but I never say "thanks for sharing you with me"…..so I cut off "you with me" and now my stamp says "thanks for sharing" (now that sounds totally like me).

I've converted some of my wood mount into clear because I like seeing where I'm stamping it without using the Stamp a ma jig.   Tune in next month & you'll totally see what I mean when I show you a new stamp from the Summer Mini Catalog.  (As a Stampin' Up! demonstrator we get to pre-order new sets next month and they'll be available for customers starting May1st.)

Thanks!

Happy Moments & Well Scripted

I arrived safely in Phoenix and I'm looking forward to tomorrow!

My card today uses two brand new sets.  I guess you could say they're my favorites for now 🙂

The flowers are from the Happy Moments stamp set and it's on page 5 of the Sale-a-bration Brochure.
The beautiful "happy birthday" is from the Well Scripted stamp set and it's on page 19 of the Occasions Mini Catalog.

I've filmed a video for this card and it's posted on my Chic n Scratch Live! website.  Click here if you'd like to go there now.
