12 Weeks of Halloween 2017 Week 12

12weeksofhalloween2017week12

The Halloween Acetate Box  is the 12th and final project for the 12 Weeks of Halloween 2017.

It’s made using the Acetate Card Boxes featured in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog.  I used two pieces of the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper for the front and back and they measure 5-3/4 x 4-3/8.

I didn’t use stamps or ink for this project … just the awesome Designer Series Paper!  Which brings me to … today is the last day for the Designer Series Paper Promotion!!

Week12

I used a lot of framelits on this project… Layering Circles Framelits, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Lots of Labels Framelits and the Patterned Pumpkins Thinlits.  Along with the Cat Punch!

Here’s the video tutorial ….

Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator – 15 years!

Today is my Stampin’ Up! Anniversary and it was 15 years ago that I joined!

I’m going to get a little wordy today … so forgive me in advance!!

For those of you that are just joining in…here’s my story…  I only joined to get the discount because I wanted EVERYTHING in the Stampin’ Up! Catalog!!

That’s why I always encourage hobby demos to join my team!! I’m not saying I don’t want to recruit business demonstrators because I do!!! But, I also know that I joined only for the discount and look what happened.   You can never count anyone out!

With all that being said…. being a business demonstrator is WORK.  But it’s work I LOVE!

Recently I took on the task of helping my daughter Brooke build a blog and start a home based business and what I always come back to is… do you love it? If not, move on and find something you do! I’ve also learned that Brooke is like many of the people I’ve trained, she doesn’t want to put anything out until it’s perfect. OMG … it will never be perfect, just do it and improve it when you can.  I have failed at more things than I’ve succeeded, but it’s worth it because I’m doing what I love!

Here’s a quote from Steve Jobs (October 4th, 2016)

“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle.”

Here’s my story…

  • I joined Stampin’ Up! on October 30, 2002
  • Started my Chic n Scratch blog on August 14, 2006
  • Filmed my 1st You Tube video on December 9, 2007
  • Hit One Million in Sales on October 20, 2014
  • If you would like to check out my Stampin’ Up! demonstrator resume, click here.

And… I’m hard at work trying to reach my 2nd million in sales so that I can hopefully design another Bella & Friends Stamp Set (Bella & more friends with accessories … Framelits would be nice too, oh and let’s not forget Elvis!!).

Enough about me and on to the fun part … Blog Candy

blogcandy15yearb

Here’s how you enter to win….

  • Leave a comment on this post and share …. how long you’ve been coming to my Chic n Scratch blog (if you’re new that’s okay).
  • For a double entry, share how you found me or my blog.
  • I’ll post the winner tomorrow when I post the final project for my 12 Weeks of Halloween.

Thanks and have a great day!

12 Weeks of Halloween 2017 Week 11

12weeksofhalloween2017week11fc

The Frankenstein Treat Bag is the 11th project for the 12 Weeks of Halloween 2017.

It’s made using the 3 x 6 Gusseted Cellophane Bags with Old Olive Card Stock

You’ll need three punches to make the Frankenstein face, 1/2 Circle Punch, 3/4 Circle Punch and the Ticket Tear Border Punch.

By looking at this project you may think it’s complicated to make … I promise you… it’s super simple!!

If you struggle with making Frankensteins mouth … in my video tutorial I show you how to use the Pretty Label Punch.

12 Weeks of Halloween 2017 Week 10

12WeeksofHalloweenweek10fc

The Bella & Friends Halloween Box is the 10th project for the 12 Weeks of Halloween 2017.

I made it using Basic Black card stock … and the Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper (featured in our annual Stampin’ Up! Catalog).

The cute little puppy is Miss Bella and she’s in the Bella & Friends Stamp Set and the greeting and bird/raven is from the Season to Sparkle Stamp Set.

I used the Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends to color Miss Bella, I used the Dark Smoky Slate to outline her and then colored her in with the Light Smoky Slate.  Next I used the Color Lifter to pull some of the color out (of the middle).

Don’t you love the little pop of Rich Razzleberry?  I used the Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ Blends Marker to color her collar and added a Brights Enamel Dot over the heart.

Speaking of Stampin’ Blends … mark your calendars for November 1st! You’re going to LOVE them!!

Coffee and a Card Class

Coffeeandacardclass1b

During Facebook Friday #34 we made at my very first Coffee and a Card Class card.

To make this card we used the Merry Cafe Stamp Set with the Coffee Cups Framelits.

I’m just going to give you the steps to make the card, I hope that’s okay!  (I have one week left to wrap up the 12 Weeks of Halloween and I’m in panic mode!!!)

  1. Score the 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 piece of Early Espresso card stock at 4-1/4 and  fold in half to form card base.
  2. Adhere 2-1/2 x 5-1/2 piece of Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper to card front using adhesive.
  3. Adhere doily to card front using your favorite adhesive.
  4. Adhere 4″ length of Burlap Ribbon to card front using your favorite adhesive.
  5. Stamp cup image from Merry Cafe stamp set onto 2-1/4 x 3 piece of Cajun Craze card stock using Early Espresso Ink.
  6. Stamp lid image on Very Vanilla card stock and “Hello Fall!” sentiment using Early Espresso ink.
  7. Cut stamped images out with dies from Coffee Cups Framelits using the Big Shot and Magnetic Platform.
  8. Glue lid and cup wrap onto stamped cup using adhesive.
  9. Adhere cup to card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  10. Tie bow with Crushed Curry Baker’s twine. Adhere to cup lid using Mini Glue dot.

Here’s the live recording … feel free to fast forward 🙂
