My Card today is the exact same card at the one I shared last week … the only difference is I used Melon Mambo instead of Pear Pizzazz. Isn’t it so cute?
These cards are being sent to my Chics Paper Ink team members (downline) …. that have July birthdays.
Everything is current product …. except the Designer Series Paper. It was retired from the Occasions Catalog. The name is …. It’s my Party DSP.
Just like Washi Tape I tend to hoard designer series paper and I decided after my last yard sale that I was going to do better!! When it came time to make this card I went to current product … the Pop of Pink Designer Series Paper ….but I only had a few sheets and I needed a bunch. So, it came to me to get my stash of retired stuff 🙂
The In Color Bundle Special Offer ended on June 25th. If you participated in this special I closed the order yesterday and as soon as the product arrives we’ll ship it out to you. The estimated time will be about 2 weeks. Thank YOU!
I’d like to start out by saying THANK YOU to everyone that has contacted about the Bella & Friends Stamp Set!!! I love it and I’m so happy that many of you do as well!!
I’ve had more than one person request the story behind the stamp set … so here it goes!
Miss Bella came to us in December 2011 as a 10 week old Cavachon puppy (Cavachon is half King Charles Cavalier and half Bichon Frise). I ordered her online … and she flew from Tennessee to Kansas. Brooke and I often talk about the night we drove to the airport to pick her up … it was such a special moment!!
Here’s her baby picture ….
I know buying a dog online sounds a little shocking but I figured my customers trust placing online orders with me … then I should extend that same curtesy ….. I’m sure glad I did! She has honestly been the best pet I’ve ever owned and since I grew up on a farm … I’ve had a lot of pets.
The story behind the stamp set … When I reached a million dollars in sales with Stampin’ Up! I was given the option to have a party and all sorts of fabulous things … I choose to meet with their illustrator and design the Bella & Friends Stamp Set (and it’s how Pretty Kitty came to life as well). I can’t draw even a stick man so Kathy gets all the credit for the creation … but Miss Bella’s pictures .. and Skittles too … was the inspiration for the stamp set.
Miss Bella with her winter hair cut 🙂
Here’s a picture of Skittles ….
Skittles is a Green Cheek Conure and she’s actually Chase’s bird (insert sad face when he moves out next month). I guess we could call her my grandbird LOL
The Bella & Friends Stamp Set (141870) is currently on backorder … but you can still order it and it should ship soon.
Thank you again for all your kind emails about the stamp set!
More Personal stuff ….
I apologize that I’ve not worked this week!!! I started having really bad pain in my right eye on Monday and today I went to the eye doctor for the 2nd time this week. Turns out I have an internal stye and the doctor gave me some medicine. I hope it starts working soon. I’m just glad it’s only a stye … I was seriously scared since the pain was getting worse (and it hurt to look at my computer screen)!!
I’m sharing another Bella & Friends card today and this is one that I’ve been sending to people that order the Bella and Friends Stamp Set from me.
For the base of this card I used Thick Whisper White Card Stock and the DSP is from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack (Pear Pizzazz). The Whisper White measures 8-1/2 x 4-1/4 (score @ 4-1/4) and the DSP measures 4 x 4.
The “It’s Your Day” greeting is from the Confetti Celebration Stamp Set and that’s the stamp set that was used for this months Free Tutorial.
The squares were cut out with the Layering Squares Framelits and they measure:
Thick Whisper White: 2-1/8 x 2-1/8, 2-5/8 x 2-5/8
Pear Pizzazz: 2-3/8 x 2-3/8
I colored the Bella image with Watercolor Pencils that I purchased on Amazon ….. along with an Aqua Painter and Blender Pen.
My project today is the Perfectly Wrapped Box and I made it using one piece of the Thick Whisper White Card Stock … along with the NEW In Color Designer Series Paper.
The two colors are Flirty Flamingo and Peekaboo Peach and I used the Perfectly Wrapped Stamp Set.
After I stamped the image I cut it out with the 1-3/4 Circle Punch. The next circle was cut out with the 2″ Circle Punch and the Glimmer Paper Scallop Circle measures 2-1/2 and it was cut out using the NEW Layering Circle Framelits.
The cute little flower is from the Tree Builder Punch.
Here’s a picture of the template …..

I have two groups on Facebook and I’d like to remind you of their purpose (even I get confused sometimes).
The first one is my official business page - Chic n Scratch. You may or may not see the posts because of the Facebook Algorithm …. but you can always visit it with this link.Or just type in Chic n Scratch in your Facebook Search Box.
My other group is Chic n Scratch Online (formerly called Chic Fanatics). Being a member of this group guarantees you will see all my posts because Groups are different than Pages (but I need a Page to support my business). Click here to join.
I LOVE making Boxes and Bags and when I saw the Popcorn Box Thinlits in the brand New Stampin’ Up! Catalog I knew I had to make it immediately!
I started out wanting to make a Father’s Day box …. but it quickly turned into something else (the Dapper Denim was first).
I used the 2016/2018 In Colors with the Sweet Stack Stamp Set.
Don’t you love the Ruched Ribbon?
I wanted to make my box out of Designers Series Paper … but it was a little flimsy due to the lightweight paper …so I started with Whisper White card stock. To make it like mine, you’ll cut two pieces of Whisper White card stock and two pieces using Designer Series Paper. See my video for a better explanation.
Special Note: I attached the bottom different from the instructions because I made it with two sheet of paper instead of one.
