Go Royals!

 worldseriesroyalsb

My blog post today is a little different today … if you’re not a fan of baseball … sorry!

I’m super excited to see the Kansas City Royals make it to the World Series!!  I’ve been a baseball fan all my life!  I’m a huge Atlanta Braves fan … and before I found paper crafting I watched every single game.

I could go on and on about about baseball …. and how I discovered paper crafting during the World Series in 1996 between the Braves and the Yankees …but I’d probably scare you if I did that.

So, we’ll talk about the cute little card ….. The crown stamp (You Rule stamp set) was in my container of take pictures so I can sell it … and last week when I was looking for a stamp set … I saw it.  Didn’t think much about it at the time.  Until I woke up today and wanted to make a card for someone. Boy was I happy I had not sold it!   Then I had to figure out what Stampin’ Up! color would match the Royals.  I went with Pacific Point.

Next was the greeting/sentiment ….  I decided to spell out “Go Royals” with the Alphabet Rotary Stamp (oops forgot the exclamation point).

The card measures 4-1/4 x 4-1/4 and the foil pieces measure 1-7/8 x 1-7/8.  I was sure happy I had saved some of those jumbo Rhinestones (sad they retired).

I’ll leave you with a picture of Brooke this morning (isn’t she so cute!!).

  1. Angie your daughter is so pretty–great picture. Angie have you seen the movie Million Dollar Arm–its a nice movie–I think you will enjoy it. Brooke you are a very pretty young lady and you have a fantastic Mom.

  2. Awesome…what a team they have this year! My household (not me) is for SF Giants – so if they win…it will be a tough series! Go Brewers! 🙁

  3. Great card and great use of the crown stamp! I was pulling for The Royals because they haven’t been to the playoffs for so long and they have one of myy Tampa Bay Rays ex-players. I hope the win it all! Your daughter is adorable.

  4. Cute card, and cute Brooke! Hmmm…..I’m a St. Louis gal, so my first choice is the Cardinals. However….they aren’t doing too well, so my second choice is, of course, the Royals! DS went to last night’s game, and was so sad! Good luck to us all!!! Would love an I-70 series, but am not at all optimistic anymore 🙂 Trying….

  5. Angie, your daughter is so pretty, beautiful smile. Congrats and good luck to your Royals. I’m feeling a bit like an oddball since I never quite caught baseball fever even though I live in a baseball town, Atlanta loves the Braves. I’m more into football, probably a result of being in the marching band in high school. I do love your card though, I think it is awesome.

  6. Way to go Royals!!!…..even though I am a true blue Montrealer ….we no longer have the Expos to cheer for!!! So we cheer/watch every American baseball game we can…and Royals are at the top of the list…they worked hard and paid off!! On to the World Series!!!

  7. Your daughter is adorable. Love the card and I used to live in Gladstone and was a Royals fan, but now live closer to St. Louis so have been their fan for the last few years. Thought we were going to have a Missouri World Series but the Cardinals haven’t been doing so well these last couple of nights. Will just have to wait and see. Have a great night.

  9. I love the card Angie! I can remember when the last time the Royals went to the World Series (1985 -86?). I had a crush on George Brett at the time. Sorry way too much info…and showing my age… Anyway I do love the card!!
