Trail Mix or Blessing Mix

Trail Mix or Blessing Mix

 trailmix_b

Same as yesterday …. my project today is a Ball Mason Jar and this time it’s filled with some awesome granola (Trail Mix).   It was one of the gifts we received at Founders Circle in September.

And ….  just as I said yesterday … I thought this would be perfect for Blessing Mix.

A few of you have ask me where I find the Bugles … Walmart is the only place I’ve been able to find them in Overland Park, Kansas (or Olathe).  But you can buy a multi pack on Amazon.

Here’s the Blessing Mix Poem for those of you that sent me an email yesterday (I saw the emails but have not had a chance to email you back.)

The Bugles are a symbol of the Cornucopia, a horn of plenty.
The Pretzels represent arms folded in Thanks & Prayer.
The Candy Corn reminds us that during the first winter, the pilgrims were allowed only five kernels of corn per day because the food was scarce.
The Fruit is a reminder that Thanksgiving is the celebration of the harvest.
The Peanuts represent seeds, the potential of the bounteous harvest of the next season if they are planted & well tended.

I’m headed home today and will work on getting caught up on email in the morning.

Thanks & have a great day!

  1. You know, at one time Shelli shared Sterling’s granola mix on her blog, I wonder if that is the same granola they had at Founder’s Circle for you?

  2. Very cute to give as gifts. I’m not sure if I would know what ingredients to put in for trail mix but I’m sure there are all kinds of different recipes for trail mix. Thanks for the ideas.

  3. Walgreens has them they are with the chips. Food Lion has them as well and they are with the popcorn not the chips. Can’t wait to make some this year! Thanks Angie!
