How to make Gumbo

Yep … you read that right .. it’s not papercrafting or a Stampin Up! project .. it’s one of my favorite recipes.  I only make it two or three times a year …because it takes a whole day to make it.  The upside is …I make enough freeze some and we love pulling it out on a cold winter day (much like today).

I posted the question last week on my Chic n Scratch Facebook Page …should I post the recipe and the picture tutorial on my main blog or my personal blog.

Almost everyone said post it on both.

But … after loading all those pictures .. I decided to send you over to my personal site.   All I ask in return is please refrain from any negatives comments about what I post on my personal blog.  I love … or I’m passionate about many things (like reality TV) and that blog is where I can let my hair down and just be normal (maybe silly is better word).  I’m also over protective of my children and I don’t post a lot about them .. I’m trying to loosen up a bit and post more.

Sometimes I even vent on a post ..and then when I feel better ….I delete it.  I once posted that I disliked something.  Since that was someones favorite .. I hurt their feelings and I’ll never get over that .. so I’m just saying … don’t take anything I say over there serious .. let’s just called it uncensored.   By now most of you know I would never hurt your feelings on purpose!!

Have a great Saturday and don’t forget to enter to win the Blog Candy in yesterdays blog post.

p.s. I’ve already had one person ask .. can I film a video on making Gumbo .. I honestly don’t know how.  It messes up the entire kitchen .. how would I get a camera to film it where you can see it and I can work .. I don’t know.  If someone has some pointers I’d consider it.  I’m not the most graceful person ..  I can edit my Stamping videos to make them look good and you can understand what I’m teaching you…  Not sure I can do that with cooking!!

  3. Looks delish but I am not a gumbo person … just don’t care for some of the ingredients. My Dad, however, is from the south and he LOVES it! I will pass this post on to him. Thanks for sharing one of your fav recipes and all the pics, Angie. 😀

  4. Angie – your gumbo looks delicious! I have never had it and can’t wait to try it out some snowy weekend! I love shrimp, but not cooked in something. I think it sounds great with just the chicken and sausage! Thanks for sharing – just LOVE all those step by step directions!
