Kindness Matters

Kindness Matters

My card today is using two items from the Sale-a-bration catalog.  I used the Kindness Matters stamp set with the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper

I LOVE this designer paper and although it won't be available after tomorrow …I'm going to continue to use it.  This pack of paper is seriously my most favorite ever!!!

Here's another picture …not using the light box.

Kindness matters card
I cut out the 1" squares with the 1" Square Punch and then layered them onto the Soft Suede card stock that I cut out with the Postage Stamp Punch.

Brooke left me a note on the coffee pot this morning that she needed two thank you cards …..  so this is what I came up with (she'd probably prefer something more edgy…LOL ).

Don't forget Sale-a-bration ends tomorrow!!

Send me Soaring Happy Birthday Card

Send me soaring Happy BirthdayMy card today is 2nd card for my Stamp Kit of the Month Club and I love it because you can give it to your husband, son or father (or any man in your life)!!

If you're thinking "how did she stamp those in a row" … I didn't.  I stamped all the kites on white card stock and cut each one of them out.  I promise it's really easy and goes really fast.  To place them you just center the first one and add the others.  (I'll admit I started out trying to stamp them but I failed.)

I used Pear Pizzazz and Baja Breeze (one of my favorite combos) and the Happy Birthday greeting came from the Loved Ones stamp set.

Personal/Computer Note:  Last year I had vision correction surgery … that was not a success (I'm having another one in May to hopefully correct it) …. so for the past 11 months .. my entire computer screen is blurry.  I know it's a miracle I've not made more mistakes!!!   The reason I mentioned it is       I made a shocking discovery yesterday …..  YOU CAN ENLARGE THE FONT ON YOUR WEB BROWSER!!!   Try it …it's soooo awesome!  On Firefox or Safari hold down the Command button and the plus sign button + at the same time and it enlarges it.  To decrease the size hold Command and the minus -  …. give it a try and let me know what you think.

Help wanted … in Kansas

I'm looking for a couple people ….locally …so if you live near Overland Park, KS and want to work a few hours let me know.

Here's what I'm needing ….

  1. Do you love to stamp?  I need help stamping!!  This person could take the work home … but the paper will need to be cut at my house (industrial cutter in my office cuts large amounts at one time).
  2.  I need someone to clean my office once a week or every other week.  Job would include cleaning off my papercrafting desk …. organizing the paper scraps from my week of creating, filing papers, putting stamp sets back where they belong …etc.  It's an easy job … but my time is better spent providing customer service & creating.

Contact me if you'd like to apply for either position at 913.851.3336 or [email protected]

Send me Soaring ….. Stamp Set of the Month

Send me soaring club card
So ….. what do you think?  Which one do you like best?

This is the first card for my April Stamp Kit of the Month Club and I used the Send me Soaring stamp set.

The colors are Pool Party and Wisteria Wonder …. I don't know about you but I was freaking out just a tad thinking that Wisteria Wonder was retiring in May …but it will be May 2013 …. not this year.

The colors that are retiring in May are Pear Pizzazz (how will I live without it), Peach Parfait, Concord Crush, Poppy Parade & Blushing Bride.

In two weeks we'll have the Retired Stamps List and I'll post it on my blog as soon as it's available.

Send me Soaring Warm Up Card

Send me Soaring warm up card
My card today is my Send me Soaring warm up card …. we're using the Send me Soaring stamp set for my Stamp Kit of the Month Club and I'm creating all three cards today.

I started out copying  the make n take card we made at our Stampin Up! Leadership conference …. but changing it up as much as I could ….. leaving what I liked best ..which was the lines made with the Gel Pen and the rounded corners.

But after looking at it for a while … it wasn't what I wanted to make  … so tomorrow you'll see the finished product (made with different colors and stepped up a notch). I like this one …but I LOVE the new one!!

Apothecary Art Card

  Apothecary Art
My card today is using the Apothecary Art Stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalog.

When I came to my office this morning (after being gone for three days) I decided that I wanted to make a simple card and I wanted to emboss with the Framelits.

Click here if you like to watch a video on how to emboss with the Framelits.

Apothecary Art Card
I haven't used the Apothecary Art stamp set much so I started with it …and that's as far as I got.  I wanted it to be simple and easy …..and if you wanted to step it up a notch you could stamp the Happy Birthday on another sheet of card stock and cut it out.  Or you could add some layers … and some glitter!

Here's how to make it:

  • Stamp the Apothecary image on to Whisper White card stock using Timber Brown Stazon.  You could use Black Stazon.
  • Stamp Happy Birthday greeting.
  • Emboss over the image with the Labels Collection Framelit.
  • Color flowers with Baja Breeze Marker &  Pear Pizzazz on the leaves.

Thanks & have a great day!!

Coming soon …..

I'm super excited to share with you that I'm making some changes to My Chic n Scratch blog.

Later this spring you can expect to see a brand new website.

So ….  I thought it would be fun to have you help me 🙂

My 1st question is ….

What categories do you look for the most?

If you look on my right side bar …you'll see a bunch …..and I need to narrow it down to 10 or 12.

Right now I'm leaning towards these ….

  • 3D
  • Cards
  • Punch Art
  • Holidays/Occasions
  • Stampin' Up!
  • Sales/Specials
  • Organization
  • Catalogs
  • Tutorials
  • Scrapbooking
  • Clubs/Classes/Kits
  • Events
  • Personal

That's 13 … one more than I want …. any suggestions?  What am I missing? or what can I toss?

Next we have subcategories …

Holidays/Occasions … the sub categories would be

  • Birthday
  • Christmas
  • Easter
  • Fathers Day
  • Mothers Day
  • Halloween
  • July 4th
  • Thanksgiving
  • May Day
  • St Patrick's Day
  • Anniversary
  • Baptism
  • Sympathy
  • Get Well

I have a lot of work to do on subcategories!!

If you'd like to offer some suggestions I'd love to hear them.

Please leave a comment on this post and later this Spring when I launch the new site I'll be sure to reward at least one person with some awesome Blog Candy!  (If I have an overwhelming response I'll reward more.)

I hope you're as excited as I am!!!

Stay tuned for more questions on my new website 🙂

March 2012 Stamp Club Projects

March 2012 Stamp Club
These were my Stamp Club Projects for this month …. and I have two extra kits I'll be offering on my blog tomorrow.

Here's the details  ….

The beautiful card is not my creation …I received it from my upline Jill and when I opened it I knew I had to demonstrate it.  It's really very easy and super cute too!!  The Sweet Cake stamp set has three greetings and I think all the club girls used the "happy birthday".

The next item is the Two Pocket Treat Holder …. this one is larger than the one I showed you last week …but it's the same size as the one I demonstrated on March 6th…. the only difference is I flipped it so the pockets are on the inside …and it's the perfect size to hold a Gift Card.  I used the Mixed Bunch stamp set with Pool Party and Lucky Limeaid and once again I used the Everyday Enchantment Designer Paper that's only available until March 31st.

On a personal note ……. I think my phone is working again. If it starts raining again (it's in the forecast) I may lose it again.

p.s I'll post the supply list tomorrow.

Thanks & have a great day!!
