Help Wanted/Needed

Admitting defeat is not an easy thing …especially when I tell my children that you can do anything ….if you set your mind to it.

I guess the exception is ….. our health.  Without saying it I took off last week…. worked maybe five hours the whole week…. thinking if I just took it easy for one more week I would be good to go.

So, yesterday I decide to work on my Spice Cake Drag Around Rag Quilt.  The pieces were already cut ..how hard would it be to sew and then snip some fabric edges?

Three hours later … I can hardly move my arm and my right hand is numb.  Especially my thumb.

Just typing this makes me so upset!  Some of you are okay with all this medical stuff …  you've been through something like this …. but there's a whole other side that doesn't get it …. yet!  And I know …. some of you are tired of reading this … believe me I'm tired of writing it.

What are my choices?  Not share all this?  … let my blog go without being updated?

But I can't afford to do that ….. I've worked all these years to build a business and I have monthly fees for every service  (Cartville, Constant Contact, Typepad, WordPress, Blue Host, Go Daddy, Easy Video Player, Paypal, Host Gator, Amazon & many more).

So, I've decided instead of giving up … I'm going to hire some people to help me.

My next post will contain all the details.

Thank you for understanding and for all your prayers!!

  1. What an awesome idea! You will have some more time to heal and yet can still carry out some of your business needs. I am sure you do a lot for your business and now you will have to learn to delegate. Good luck!

  2. Praying you feel stronger everyday. Letting someone else do for you is always hard (for me anyway), but it may be just what you need, for now. It doesn’t have to be permanent. Just take care of yourself.

  3. No, we’re not tired of hearing about it. Glad you are able to share with all of us. Hang in there. It HAS to get better. You are in all our prayers.

  4. I think this is a really wise decision. You need to take care of yourself. Please don’t waste any energy on the negative comments you may get. I wish people would learn to try and walk in other people’s shoes once in a while… Will definitely pray for you 🙂

  5. I think this is a GREAT idea, Angie! Good for you!!! Negative comments? I can’t figure out why someone would leave those, if they don’t want to follow your blog, all they have to do is NOT click on your link…simple as that! I for one like getting updates, then I can pray for an exact circumstance. I can’t believe the creativity that you’ve shared with SO many…this is the time that we can give back to you, by encouraging you & praying for you!! Hugs!

  6. Asking for help is not admitting defeat, it’s just finding another way to win. It is the hardest lesson I have had to learn in the last 3 years since my MS diagnosis. Prayers for you as you regain your footing.

  7. Hi Angie,
I love what Traci wrote above about finding another way to win…that is genius!! You will have people flooding your inbox hoping to be hired! It’s a win-win. I’m so glad you are making your health a priority; it is hard not to be in control but everyone is different, heals at their own pace, so you’re smart to delegate and let your body tell you when it’s ok to go full speed ahead again. You are in my thoughts and prayers; hang in there and this will all be behind you soon!
