Clear Block Cards

Faith in Nature Card My title today is a little funky …I wasn't sure how to word it ….but here's what it means …. I created the background with a Clear Block (letter C).   I applied Pear Pizzazz ink to the Clear Block and then stamped it onto my Whisper White card stock.  Next I applied Early Espresso ink to the Faith in Nature image and then stamped it.

I've wanted to show you how to create a background with a clear block technique for a while but I was saving it for some new stamps. I'll work on filming a video today …but it may not be ready until tomorrow or Saturday (our internet connection keeps coming and going today and we may have to call someone). I'll post some additional cards when I post the video .

Here's a few more cards …. and a group shot.

Clear Block cards These cards measure 3 x 3 and I used the Button Buddies stamp set with the Merry Winter stamp set for the winter card. I used Baja Breeze ink.
Button Buddies card The final card I'm sharing today is using Pool Party ink with the Workshop Words stamp set that we were given at Convention.  If we attended five classes we got this set free.  I was thrilled!!  I almost didn't get it because I didn't feel well this year and I had to skip a few classes …but on the final day I rallied and went to all my classes to complete my five.

Workshop Words card Now for a little story for you …I love telling stories …must be the southern girl in me!!

Many years ago I went to my first Stampin Up Convention in Orlando and I was so excited about going ….but the one item I couldn't wait to get was the little stamp that was included in the lunch box.  So, everyday I rushed to get my lunch box and turns out that's the year they stopped doing that.  I still crack up about that!! Turns out I won Prize Patrol that year and the gift was really awesome …so I guess it made up for it.

Have a great day!!

p.s. Don't forget to make sure your address is correct on my Stampin Up! site by noon tomorrow (Friday) see details on previous post.

Spooky Bingo Bits Matchbox

Spooky Bingo Bits matchbox This morning I posted a question on my Chic n Scratch Facebook Page  ….if they’d like to see a few another project made with the Matchbox Die …most of them said yes …..and  I couldn’t resist making two more…since Halloween crafts are my favorite!!

For the first box I used the Spooky Bingo Bits stamp set and I decided to keep it simple.  I used the technique I showed in my It’s a Wrap Matchbox video for making the squares fit in the Scallop Square.

The next picture is the Dark & Dreary Matchbox ….I’m so happy that stamp set was carried over from the Holiday Mini Catalog!!

Dark & Dreay matchbox I used the Wicked Cool stamp set for the greeting and I embossed the top of the matchbox with the Spider Web Embossing Folder.  I sprayed it with a mixture of Frost White Shimmer Paint & alcohol.

Here’s the supplies I used for the Spooky Bingo Bits Matchbox and the Dark & Dreary Matchbox:

  • Spooky Bingo Bits stamp set – Wood #123944 Clear #123946
  • Wicked Cool Stamp set – Wood #118738 Clear #120600
  • Dark & Dreary Stamp set – Wood #120837 Clear #121151
  • Matchbox Die #114890
  • Big Shot Die Cut Machine #113439
  • Scallop Square Punch #119884
  • 1″ Circle Punch #119861
  • 3/4 Circle Punch #119873

  • Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon #119962
  • Old Olive ink #102277 & card stock #100702
  • Brushed Silver card stock #100712

Thanks & have a good day!!

Note from Angie:  Thank you for all the comments, emails and prayers.  The Biopsy went okay and I go in next Thursday for the results.  I’m a tad scared … the mass has gotten larger over the course of three weeks …. but at least the needle part is done!!

Merry Winter Matchbox

Merry Winter Matchbox I've got the Matchbox on my brain this week and I decided to try it with the Merry Winter stamp set.  I can't wait to use this set later this fall for some Holiday crafts!!!

It's the same box as yesterday and the day before …the only difference is I turned it the other direction.  I used the brand new Chocolate Chip Scallop Dots Ribbon and I embossed the top of the matchbox with the Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder.

And ….best of all ….I used a new product that will be available in the Holiday Mini Catalog.  It's called Dazzling Details and it's Glitter Glue …. it's clear and hard to see on a blog but in person it's very pretty.  As some of you know I'm allergic to glitter and this product solves my problem … thank you Stampin' Up!!!!!!

I went back & forth about coloring the snowman but since I'm in a hurry today I decided to keep him simple.

Here's the supply list for the Merry Winter Matchbox:

  • Merry Winter stamp set – Wood #122700 – Clear #122702
  • Matchbox Die #114890
  • Big Shot Die Cut Machine #113439
  • Chocolate Chip Scallop Dots Ribbon #124142
  • Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder #117335
  • Dazzling Details …. coming soon in the Holiday Mini Catalog
  • Chocolate Chip ink #100908 & card stock #102128
  • Baja Breeze card stock #111352

Thanks & have a great day!!

Personal Note:  I have my Thyroid Biopsy today and I'm so nervous I'm sick to my stomach!! I'm sure all will be well …but the thought of needles in my throat….with me awake  ….oh dear!!

I need to ask all of you to please be patient with me!  Since April my life has fallen apart  and in all this I've met some of the nicest people ever …and a few not so nice.   All I can say is I'm human ….I'm doing my best.  If you really know me you already know that.  Before April my normal workday was 7am to midnight …but I'm sick right now and by 5pm I'm toast (actually 3pm but I force myself to keep going). I'm also not working on weekends …  but I promise you I'll get through all this and be a better person for it!!  I have faith :)

It’s a Wrap Matchbox …. in Wisteria Wonder

It's a wrap matchbox wisteria I couldn't resist making the It's a Wrap Matchbox in Wisteria Wonder!!  There's just something about that color that I love!

You may be wondering how I layered the squares for the tag …it's something I learned at the Stampin Up Convention and it's in my video. Click here if you'd like to head over to my Chic n Scratch Live! website to see the video on how to make the It's a Wrap Matchbox.

Have a good evening!!

P.S. My day was shot down in flames ……   One of Brooke's brackets broke on her braces and I had to pick her up from college and rush her to the ortho …. and get her back in less than 2 hours.  After it's all said and done … five hours was gone :O   On the bright side … thank God I was available and could do it!!!
