Change in Plans

I always have the best intentions ……but I've fallen short again.  I think maybe I should be learning something from this but I'm not sure what.  Oh well, moving on.  My plan was to offer some major blog candy this weekend.  But between Dave being sick and everything else I've not been able to post the details. So, we'll improvise.

If you'd like to win a copy of the five pages (Hippo, Lion, Ladybug, Reindeer & Bear) of my punch book leave a comment on this post.  I'll draw a name on Tuesday.   And, I have a small favor….I need some testimonials for my Chic Stand.  I've gotten hundreds of emails about how much you all love it.  But, when I get a comment that says "It just looks like foam" or "whats the big deal" …it throws me for a loop.  So, if you have the Chic Stand and want to post your comment about that it would be great.  I'm going to compile them and create a spot on my blog for them.

Have a wonderful weekend and I'll see ya on Tuesday.

  2. Hi Angie! Count me in on your 5-punch page give-away!

As for your Chic Stand……I have an original ChicStand that I PROUDLY display on my craft desk and always travels with me to my crops and mania’s. It is always the talk of the room when I’m crafting-someone always comes up and ask me “what’s that?” – then you will hear squeals of JOY when they realize it holds my paper piercer and needle. Angie-you designed a fabulous tool and someday….I’ll breakdown and buy one of your new stands…..LOVE THEM! Kadie

  3. Hi Angie, I also really like the Chic Stand. I bought the new one. I previously used a hand punch to make the holes but found it hard to center them. Having the Chic Stand with my needles and paper piercer on my craft table is a time saver and the holes are always centered. Thank you!

  5. Hi Angie,

Thank you again for these wonderful punch art animals. Each one is cuter than the last! I’d love to win the pages, but even if I don’t, I will use the videos and have such fun. Of course, this means I need to order more punches!

  6. I don’t have a chicstand, but I can tell you what I would love about it. It’s on my wishlist.
I love that the needle or paper piercer stands up in the chicstand, which it can’t in other piercing mats. Plus, I love that it makes putting brads in much easier, by being thick enough to pierce a hole and then push the brad through without ever picking up the paper.

  12. I love all the punch critters – especially the teddy bear and the lion.
Also, RE: the Chic Stand – I think it’s a great idea. Mine sits on my table at all times so that I know exactly where my piercers are. I don’t worry about losing them or (yikes) getting pricked by them – um, yes, my work table sort of disappears under all the paper bits & completed embellies, embossing powders, glitter, well, you know. I also use it for centering circular pieces that I want lined up correctly. I thoroughly used my first Chic Stand, then turned it over and completely used that side, too. Now I’m on my second one!
Hope your husband feels better SOON. I know that it’s difficult when your significant other is out of action. My husband is out for the next few months with a broken foot. So hang in there 🙂

Luv, Luv, Luv the punch animals. I can’t imagine why anyone would say “what’s the big deal?”. I totally appreciate your creativity and most of all the fact that you share it with all of us all the time. Thanks a million!!

That means that I would have to purchase “13” of them. I know they will appreciate them as much as I do!

  96. THE CHIC STAND: I bought one because I had watched all your videos and saw it. I had been using the foam that is in the cricut tool kit. But I decided one day that i was getting the stand. I am now envied at my scrapbook weekends when I am putting brads or making tiny holes on my scallop. It was an awesome idea. Don’t listen to the negative comments you have made an awesome thing.

Also the punch book is a great idea, I have actually adopted the idea for stamp sets, sissex punches, etc, so when I have an idea, I go to my binder first. I have made the lady bug, she is darling, and am going to try the lion today.

The punched animals are adorable, all of them, and great for ask the young kids for help!, they enjoy a lot making these for themselves.
About the ChickStand, is the most useful tool I have. I got the small one a year ago, and now got the big one. The size is perfect. I use the small to keep my piercings in one place, and the big one for my craftings. They are always in my desk.

  116. I LOVE the idea of a punch book that you can look through to select an item and then see on the page the exact punches necesary to make the item. It’s like the cake idea book at a bakery.
I think people have more confidence when they see a finished product and also what is used to make that product. Punch figures are so great because they’re easy and beginners quickly gain confidence after making just one!

  117. Chic Stand “looks like foam” and may not be a “big deal”, but it is a little inconspicuous paper piercing tool that’s worth it’s weight in gold. I’ve tried different types of mats, different thicknesses of sponges, soft woods, stacking papers, and NOTHING works better at helping to pierce papers or set brads perfectly the first time than a Chic Stand. It’s one of those crafting tools that’s so simple in design, yet functional, easy to use, lightweight, easy to store and travel with, and a great conversation starter at crops and classes.

Hope the hubbie made it to the doctor and is feeling better real soon. Prayers and hugs.

Love the punch animals, what a great idea.

I have the original chic stand and loved it so much, that when you upgraded to a bigger one,I bought it. It is great when you are doing paper piercing, you can leave the needle in it (so, you can always find it). It takes up so little room, that you can leave it on your craft desk where it’s always available. When you see it, it reminds you to use paper piercing as a way to embellish your card. Sometimes what you don’t see you don’t use on a regular basis. Thanks for sharing your great ideas, and chicstand.

  155. Who wouldn’t love to receive the punch page tutorials…they’re fantastic.

The Chic stand is amazing. The chic stand is thick which allows you to really pearce a whole in your cardstock something you can not do with the mat pack. I also like that once I pierce the whole in my cardstock I can remove the paper piercer and insert my brad in the exact same spot which works great when there is more than one layer of cardstock. Safety is important so I also love that I can store my paper piercer in the chic stand which acts as a protection cap and as well it acts as a stan for my paper piercer and is at my finger tips on my work station.
What’s not to love!? It is a must need tool.
